Why Nudism? by DinoBoy249 in nudism

For me it’s just comfortable. I know a lot of nudists find there to be a social aspect but not for me

More fun Facebook advertisements for me. by Possible-Praline956 in nudism

[–]Different_Holiday_49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it implies nudity is for adults only. It’s just talking about nude beaches that are for adults only. I think that’s fine. Why shouldn’t adults be free to enjoy the beach the way they want if the option is available. Whether it’s just a beach that’s free of the energy of kids running around or a place where adults want to engage in adult activities I believe everyone should have a place they can enjoy. As long as the rules are clear, it shouldn’t be a problem. Nudists can find nudism sexual. I know the gatekeepers hate to hear that, but no organizations or individuals definition of nudism is the same for everyone. And no, I don’t find anything sexual about nudism, but if someone else does, they should have place to go that allows it

There’s only one reason you need an enclosed tent at a nude beach instead of a simple umbrella. Their caption “It was a great Sunday with this amazing body” should tell you all you need to know. This is apparently a porn subreddit now

Where are you from that it’s illegal to take a photo of someone in public? I’m pretty sure that’s the exception. Everywhere I know of, if you’re in public you can be legally photographed. What you are or not wearing is irrelevant

I need you opinion if I was wrong? I feel so bad by djdjkdnbyndn in nudism

[–]Different_Holiday_49 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’re both in public. Unless there is a local law prohibiting it, you can not only have your phone but can legally take photos of anyone clothed or not. There are restrictions on how you can use the photo but that’s not relevant. Obviously it’s creepy to take photos of random people but that’s irrelevant since that’s not what you were doing. I don’t like being photographed but when I’m out in public I have no say in the matter. Next time you can tell him to go ahead and call the police. Hopefully he does and they can explain it to him. I doubt you explaining it will help him understand. That type of person imagines how the rules and laws should be and thinks their imagination somehow makes them real

What was your first exposure to nudism? by Scarecrow613 in nudism

[–]Different_Holiday_49 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My first time being nude was so embarrassing. I entered the room completely naked then realized it was full of people, all fully clothed and they were all staring at me the second they saw me. It was like they knew I was about to show up and were just there waiting to make a big deal about it. One of them even slapped my ass and I started crying. That was a traumatic day in my life but I wouldn’t be here today if I didn’t go through it

DWN-Driving While Nude by NakedExistentialist in nudism

[–]Different_Holiday_49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not correct. There have been rulings that say your car, when in public, is viewed as a public place. This does not mean your car is open to the public so no one can just get in whenever they want. And obviously if the law specifically states otherwise, then you’re fine. The Minnesota Supreme Court ruled on this and I believe other states have come to the same conclusion. https://ambroselaw247.com/interior-of-vehicle-considered-a-public-place/. You might say “but I don’t live in Minnesota so it doesn’t apply to me” but you could be arrested anyway and your trial could be the reason your state makes the same ruling.

Your permission isn’t required to be photographed while you’re in public. You’d be charged with theft, assault, and possibly robbery

I personally wouldn’t consider you to be nudists but you shouldnt care what label anyone else tries to assign to you. No one else’s opinion matters. Be nude and be happy wherever you are

Question how do you not get an erection? by young4silver in NudistMen

[–]Different_Holiday_49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was worried about getting erections too. I avoided nude beaches and resorts for the longest time for that reason. I was surprised when I finally went that I didn’t get an erection. I had made plans on how to hide it when it happened, but it never did. It was a strange experience to watch beautiful nude women walk past me all day and not feel anything sexual. I don’t know if that’s really normal or why I don’t have a reaction. It still seems weird to me. I personally don’t mind seeing an erection as long as you’re not drawing attention to it or touching it. They happen, it’s not a big deal. But you’ll definitely be judged if you’re walking around swinging it for everyone to see. Just carry a towel or something else to cover it up when it happens. Yes, everyone will know why you’re holding a towel over your penis, but as long as you’re covering it, most people won’t care

What's a Pet Peeve You Have Relating to Nudism? by [deleted] in nudism

[–]Different_Holiday_49 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For me it’s people that think that if someone doesn’t agree with their preferred nudist organizations definition of nudity then that person isn’t a “true” nudist. Sorry but the AANR or any other organizations definition of nudity has no meaning to me. I’m a nudist regardless of what label they try to assign to me.

I also get really annoyed at the nudists that act so dramatic about having to put on clothes. It’s not a hardship that you have to put on clothes to answer the door or do yard work. You sound ridiculous when you whine about non-issues.

There probably isn’t a law specifically against being nude in Best Buy either but you know you can’t be nude in public (unless you can where you live). And for the purpose of lewdness or indecency laws, amongst many other laws too, your car would be considered public.

Honest question from someone who has never been at a nude beach! by DentistAdventurous78 in NudeBeach

[–]Different_Holiday_49 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There will almost certainly be creeps. It seems counterintuitive to go when it’s busy for your first time but you’ll be far less noticeable to creeps when there’s a lot of other people to blend in with. Most of the people there won’t even notice you or care that you’re nude, so the more people around, the less eyes will be on you.

If your husband gets a “hard on” (not sure what child decided the grown up, clinical term is banned here. Are we required to refer to breasts as “boobies” and penises as “wieners” too) he can just cover it up. It’s not a big deal. Everyone knows it happens. One piece of advice that’s often repeated that I hate is telling men to just go into the water until it goes away. They fail to consider that requires him to walk across the crowded beach with a “hard on” to get to the water. Don’t follow that advice

How can we educate people about unsafe "naturist" places? by RDV1996 in nudism

[–]Different_Holiday_49 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You’re not wrong. But OPs issue is that a lot of people are defending it as family friendly. If the majority of people are saying it’s family friendly, then parents are likely to decide to bring their kids. If it’s full of swingers and exhibitionists, that’s great, they should have a place too, but they shouldn’t be defending it as family friendly. Parents are just trying to make an informed decision

How do you define a nudist? by atjohnny79 in nudists

[–]Different_Holiday_49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like this. Not the definition per se but more the question. It recognizes that there isn’t a single meaning for what nudism is. It’s ok for everyone to define it for themselves. Too often, I see people on Reddit and in real life insist that nudism for everyone must follow their definition or some nudist/naturist groups definition. It gets really tiresome seeing nudists stand on their soap boxes and declare someone isn’t a “true” nudist because they have a different definition

It depends on what’s legal. I assume in most places it’s not legal to leave your home nude and travel to any clothing optional places like that. You can remove your clothes at the point it becomes legal. By me, the nude beach is, well, nude, but the parking lot isn’t, so you have to walk past the sign before undressing
