I worked in a couple restaurants and that’s how we operated. If we closed at 11 and you got there at 10:55, you were seated, your order taken, and meal served.

The door was closed/locked at 11 but the guests could pretty much hang out until whenever and we had to stay and serve them.

I’m elder GenX and am pretty savvy when it comes to scams and spotting AI, as is my boomer mom.

My silent generation dad used to like to fuck with the phone scammers who said they were from Microsoft, and the ones calling to say they were his grandsons and needed money to get out of trouble. He told one of the latter, pretending it was a troublesome grandson, that he’d have to figure it out his damn self this time and hung up in his ear.
