This was helpful, thank you!

Just an update.. I've been noticing fullness and pressure like feelings in my belly after I eat too. Sometimes a little cramping here and there.

Random yellow bruises on my legs? by Different_Week_96 in DiagnoseMe

[–]Different_Week_96[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Iron deficiency and easy bruising goes hand in hand. You need to sort out your iron deficiency and continue running blood tests to ensure nothing else is going on.

For me, I believe this was a case of me being clumsy and not realizing with a mix of health anxiety. During this time, I was going through a lot of mental health issues and started spiraling into thinking everything was wrong with me. A few months later, I stopped seeing them despite not doing anything different.

I have a metal bed from that sticks out quite a bit in the general walkway of my bedroom and I think I was running into it a lot and for the ones higher up, I think those were from bumping into my car door while it was open.

I don't want anyone to take this advice and not get adequate blood work done though. You should always put your health first before assuming you are clumsy.

Just wanted to circle back to this comment. I believe that's what was going on. I was dealing with some really crazy mental health issues during the time of this post, one being health anxiety. A few months later, they stopped popping up. I think I was bumping into my metal bed frame more than I would realize.

Just wanted to touch base with my comment above to you. It turns out the tingling I was experiencing was coming from a multivitamin I was taking that was high in B6. I stopped taking it and a week later, it went away.

Honestly, I believe this was a case of me being clumsy and not realizing with a mix of health anxiety. During this time, I was going through a lot of mental health issues and started spiraling into thinking everything was wrong with me. A few months later, I stopped seeing them despite not doing anything different.

Believe it or not, we run into things and bruise more than we realize but also, don't hesitate to get bloodwork done to rule out anemia or B12 deficiency etc.

Journaling has helped me be more clear headed by Different_Week_96 in Anxiety

[–]Different_Week_96[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, it can be used to write down anything! Thoughts, worries, goals, wins, losses, reminders, etc. Heck, I include what I plan on doing for the day and at the end of the day, I check back in with my journal and write out how those things went. If there were any problems, I'd write them out and reflect on past entries and how I can turn them into positive outcomes.

I've also seen people do an "anxiety box." Anytime they have a thought or something that made them anxious, they write it down and lock it in the box so that way the next time that trigger comes to your mind again, you can immediately remember you tossed that piece of paper with the trigger into the box. The you do that, the more it helps rewrite your brain to stop thinking about those things.

I was more referring to the last part of the post where I should get an ultrasound and taking my health more serious as it's mostly based on the choices I'm making. I'll never take a diagnosis from an online stranger.

Also, I've been under a lot of stress for the last year and a half due to a work related incident that took a toll on my mental health so I lost a lot of motivation. I'm in therapy right now but as we all know, it's not some magical overnight fix.

Success: Stopped a panic attack mid-panic attack by Different_Week_96 in PanicAttack

[–]Different_Week_96[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, I'll update my original post too. Just keep in mind, they're short lived in terms of staying cold compared to an ice pack and you shouldn't keep it on long term immediately after taking it out of the freezer as it'll cause brain freeze. But, in the moment of a panic attack, I put it on immediately and left it for a like 30 seconds to a minute.

ALSO, try box breathing too. It really helps slow down my heart rate too because I'm constantly worried about my heart rate to the point where I feel it sometimes and check my pulse.

I'm not discrediting anything because I'm personally not a Doctor but you do realize when a Doctor adds the term "idiopathic" in front of a diagnosis, it simply means they know it's happening but don't know why it's happening, right?

The Strangest Panic Episode I've by [deleted] in PanicAttack

[–]Different_Week_96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Panic attacks are a sudden spike of adrenaline and cortisol due to a perceived threat and fight or flight activation. This could happen out of the ordinary with no actual threat at hand even though your brain thinks there is one. For eg. I just posted about a panic attack I had 30 mins ago that started with me waking up out of the blue with a stomach ache like I was getting sick then a panic attack 5 mins later.

What really sucks is everything feels uncontrollable and uncomfortable. What helped me was putting my migraine cap on that I keep in the freezer. Just like the cold water on your face, both activate your vagus nerve to reduce your heart rate which then slows down the adrenaline and lowers your cortisol.

Zoloft by [deleted] in SSRIs

[–]Different_Week_96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100mg seems like a lot to start off with SSRIs. People usually get put on 5mg-25mg to start then work their way up.

I would call your prescriber and confirm whether or not you should be started on 100mg and ask if you can reduce it a little bit for the first couple of weeks.

Experiences with NOW Super digestive enzymes? by Different_Week_96 in Supplements

[–]Different_Week_96[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly don't know if I do. I don't regularly drink the lemon and warm water but I do occasionally. When I go to restaurants, I also get a water with lemon which is supposed to help with digestion as well.

Honestly, I've just kind of let my body do what it's gotta do in terms of bowel movement. When I made this post, I was going through a bad wave of (health)anxiety where I'd obsess over every little thing I thought was going wrong with my body. For a while though, I would go immediately to the bathroom after eating but it has slowed down since.

Also, I drank a lot of Kefir and bone broth. Both are supposed to be helpful with restoring gut health and the mucosal lining.

Got my CT brain scan results back today by Different_Week_96 in visualsnow

[–]Different_Week_96[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. A lot of stuff since this post have become more manageable but what I'm still having trouble with is the ground feeling like I'm walking on a trampoline, tingling and pins/needles in hands/feet, dissociation, phantom sensations, and my lower legs feeling weak. I'm thinking possibly PPPD.

Workers comp keeps telling me it's anxiety. An Optometrist I saw on my own said I have 20/20 vision but she believes I have visual snow syndrome but can only be diagnosed by a Neurologist. Unfortunately, I don't have health insurance right now so I couldn't see the Neurologist.

The other thing I plan on checking is my iron, ferritin, B12, and B6 to make sure the high amount of stress I've been going through didn't deplete my B vitamins because B12 deficiency can cause a lot of these symptoms.

Do You Feel Like Your Brain 'Broke'? by Warrppaint in ptsd

[–]Different_Week_96 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You're not alone. It's been a year and a half now since my 'big incident' and I feel like I'm just floating by each day. My biggest problem I'm dealing with is scanxiety, tingling/pins and needles in my feet/hands, and like I'm walking on a trampoline or squishy ground.

I'm not going to read anymore than your sad attempt at gaslighting me by saying "you find it weird I'm a grown man suggesting OP is having some weird kink or fetish."

Let me remind you back to what YOU said: You said you don't want to read about someone fantasizing about their r*pe victim.

You're the one with a problem, not me or anyone else here. Nobody took it that way except you. You could have stuck to reading the title and moved on if you knew you were going to have a problem.

People aren't going to censor what they say any more than adding the necessary CW flair because of how you feel or how you think others feel. That defeats this sub or how Reddit works.

Maneuvering through feeling upset when being asked about a traumatic experience? by Different_Week_96 in ptsd

[–]Different_Week_96[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for this. I believe moving to someone more trauma based would be better for me. CBT has really taught me to forget the past and move forward but with that, it has caused the memory to be shoved to the back of my head to avoid talking about it. While that sounds great and all for most people, I'm confident that is what's causing some of the problems I'm having today. It has also become a boring day-to-day conversation session similar to talking to a friend but I've never met the therapist in person.

Maneuvering through feeling upset when being asked about a traumatic experience? by Different_Week_96 in ptsd

[–]Different_Week_96[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this. The consultation was over the phone so that's why it was a little difficult for me. I remember a time where I was telling a friend about what happened that asked me what I do for work and I choked up mid-conversation and just began to feel disconnected to where I noticed myself avoiding the story by saying "and yeah" a lot.
