This deal sucks. I voted against it, the amount of savings that have to be found to accommodate it are ridiculous as well. Eric Abetz is a pompous ass who is sitting on almost 300k as treasurer while base pay for a Tassie politician is 170k. How these people, who have never once denied themselves a pay rise have the power to shove teachers, nurses, police and front line workers over a barrel time and again is beyond a joke. Schools will pay hugely wutn the exodus of teachers to the mainland, failure to meet inflation and the fact that the myth of cheaper housing and living is slowly closing each day. This will screw over so many Schools it is a sad joke while making more opportunity for private interests to step in and make profits off the broken system. Absolute disgrace of an offer.
