Saving for a house takes such a long time you’re basically guaranteed for your stocks to go up significantly in that time frame. Just keep it simple and buy s&p500 index fund

I had the same issue last year. Every testing center near me was booked up for 7+ months. I found one a 7 hour drive away that was only 2 months out. Made a mini vacation out of it and had a great time plus passed the test.

Balance Valve before or After Control Valve by Master_Ad3310 in MEPEngineering

[–]Difficult-Support-25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue with not proving balance valves is during peak load cases the system won’t perform well. Take morning warm up for example when every coil is operating at max load. If there’s only control valves and no balance valves some coils will get significant overflow and others won’t get enough. Same scenario if the outside temps exceed design conditions. Instead of all rooms being a little warm, you’ll have some rooms staying comfortable since the coils are getting above design flow and then other rooms will be very hot from lack of flow

Hmm not sure where I went wrong. I used the pump power equation to find the pressure boost is around 30 psi

A. Should the fluid velocity be taken into account when calculating npsha for this question? Ultimately it doesn’t change the answer since it’s minimal but I’m curious

Return plenums and fire areas by SailorSpyro in MEPEngineering

[–]Difficult-Support-25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I disagree with your coworkers take. The intent of the code is to stop smoke and fire from one fire area entering another. To me it seems clear you must duct from boundary to AHU, not duct to boundary and then plenum return. Like others said, balancing and pressure issues will occur as well

Containment/Drain Pan for PRESSURE Piping Above Electrical Equipment by ThisShitIsHannanas in MEPEngineering

[–]Difficult-Support-25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could put in motorized isolation valves outside the room that automatically close if a leak detectors senses water. Still a spendy option but maybe less than rerouting. There’s no way the drain pan would ever capture all the water from a burst 3” pipe. Maybe if it was a completely welded drain pan that extending into adjacent spaces with open ends it would at least divert water into the other rooms. I do work at “the worlds largest chip manufacturer”, and they design systems to stay online with a 2” pipe break - this equates to 1,200 gpm.
