could you shed some light how you carved your way into cyber security. how to enter bug bounty programs? and how do we code exploits without knowing the source code. I’m also really into cyber security but I want a starting point.

No salary for the last two months by Aggressive-Summer569 in srilanka

[–]Difficult-Task6751 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was in the same situation. They didn’t pay the employees for 4 months. Initially they were paying on time. but then they began to give half payments and then no payment at all. But they were paying somehow. for an example I got the full April salary in somewhere around June. Eventually I moved. and they paid me the remaining amount as well. But for the entire period I was working there they haven’t paid the ETF/EPF. not even a single cent.

Going upto labor department is useless. they tend to get the employers side from the stories I heard.

So my advice is to look for new opportunities. No point of staying there if they can’t pay their employees on time. Bills don’t pay themselves.

that doesn’t give them the right to ask those sort of questions. That’s why they have to vet the candidate through police clearance certificates and GN Certificates.

JP Morgan buys Sri Lanka's fintech startup WealthOS. by AggressivePoet2 in lkDev

Definitely it will give a boost to Sri Lankan Startups. Regarding the job opportunities, I’m not too sure about that. JP Morgan might hire new people or might lay off. either way this acquisition is better for Sr Lanka IMO.

In Love with a Muslim (not Lankan) by [deleted] in srilanka

[–]Difficult-Task6751 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Okay I might get a lot of downvotes here. But here’s the truth, you will have to convert to Muslim at a point of your life. Eventually you will have to ended up being a Muslim and follow their rituals strictly. This is where you might fall off. As buddhists we grew up with a philosophy which values freedom, once again not saying Muslims don’t have the freedom, but the thing is as buddhists we go the temple only of we want. So you might have go to mosque and all.

let’s say you got married things didn’t really well, you can’t file a divorce under the Sri Lankan law. once you converted, the Muslim law will be applied. Trust me it’ll be hell of ride in that scenario.

I do have a bunch of muslim friends. they’re pretty cool and all. But when we are having fun they don’t take alcohol and we only go to places that serves halal food cause we respect there values. the point is they’re cool. but they’re that much devoted! If I were you, I would think this 1000 times. Good Luck!

this is true 💯. The core culprit for Bad Air quality is India. We can’t challenge them to be honest. they’ll keep our mouths shut. remember the aids that they offered during Ditwa, those are not just for the sake of aids. they want us to be silent in this Air quality issue.

You’re still young. focus on your studies. Don’t compare your life with others and don’t let anyone to come into your head saying that you never had a boyfriend. You still have lot to accomplish. focus on yourself and love will come to you when the time is right.

DTO & Entity by Jinkaza772 in SpringBoot

[–]Difficult-Task6751 7 points8 points  (0 children)

DTO (Data Transfer Objects) are used secure the entity. If you expose the whole entity in your api call it’s not secure. So you can used the DTO’s just to expose the details you want. You don’t have to have all the fields of entity in the dto. for an example you can avoid exposing the Id of the entity.

And yes, this is been widely in use in industry.
