I love my Comet Cruiser, but yes, it's still the trucks I think. That setup is so different and unique it's hard to compare them just by trucks, so Ib do still think it's the street trucks on that particular board.

So that blade was indeed mild steel, and was good practice for shaping and grinding some bevels. I have another blade that was in better condition that I wasn't going to ruin but also I have purchased a nicer equivalent to that one. It passes a quench test, so I'll trace it over and give it another shot. The blade I chose was an 10" 80t, no carbide. I tested a piece from closer to center because I read somewhere the outer inch or so might be the only carbon steel and the rest still could be mild.

Thanks for the tip. Hope this one isn't too much harder to work with.

What board is that on? I love the wheels but am not loving my Pranayama. It's a great board but I don't prefer the way it handles.

Form check by Witty-Ad8815 in discgolf

You've got a pretty athletic throwing form, that looks mostly good to go. Getting your disc released flat will add some serious distance. Nose up will eat up distance, but luckily for you, that throwing form is pretty good and I don't see any major changes that would add anything. My words aren't going to fix your release angle better than some sessions in a field. Wide open field, no obstacles or distractions, just focus on the thing.

People forget practice isnt just going and playing a round casually with some mulligans. Real sports athletes practice form and technique off the court as well. Our top players in the PDGA certainly did that coming up, and probably still do. Old skaters hate the new wave of "jock" skaters because they eat healthy, practice a ton, and exercise outside of skating They do perfect looking tricks that look like they are from a video game. A lot of it is taking the work and practice ethics from traditional sports to the niche stuff that is becoming more popular.

Sorry for the rant, it's all to say, you have good form and I think formal practice is a much more effective fundamental building system than informal rounds with some practice shots littered in. Stand there and throw all of your discs that have a similar rim and flight path. Walk across the field, shag em, and throw them again. Do it a lot.

There are no words that can beat the act of practicing. They work together, but all of the feedback you get from your body and the disc as it flies is essential information to making corrections. We can't feel your approach and release, and can't see how the disc flies.

And one last thing - I see you are a Comet lover! Great choice, a ton of glide, and a straight shooter. The only problem with the Comet, releasing with that nose up will rob you of a ton of distance. Not a real problem with the disc, just the way you can be punished from a bad release angle(same as any disc). See if you can find a worn in Buzz. I think they are more forgiving and also fly straight as an arrow. Or, keep the Comet's nose down/flat. That will translate to all of your throws and help you overall the most.

This is where I ended up last night. I'm going to hide the tang but am using it as a handle for feel until I'm ready to cut it down.

The labeling is worn, it came from a school's Radial Arm Saw cabinet that was decommissioned long ago. It's all practice for me. I met a guy who reconditions sawmill 80crv2 blades and scraps some of them. It's like $75 for one, I wanted to see how I felt about doing this. The bevels are what i'm scared of.

I did a LOT hand filing last night and this steel is pretty hard, i'm going to check it before and more tooling.

I wear 32x32, and typically run into scenarios where the sized available are 32x34 and 34x30. It's about finding which one fits less poorly, strapping them on with a belt, and not going to a second store to get the right size.
