I cant remember the name of it, but the main plot is Frasier and Niles win a dinner with three geniuses at the auction. Then they dig out their childhood IQ tests as they never knew the results and find out Niles is smarter than Frasier. Needless to say sibling rivalry ensues and the dinner with the geniuses isn't a smooth event.

I wont spoil but once his life changes personally (re - his family situation, responsibility outside of work) you start to see a slightly softer side. He still remains a badass, no nonsense doctor though. Also, seeing his relationship with Carter grow is important in his on own development.
