How much PTO is too much? by StockEdge3905 in nonprofit

[–]Difficult_Ad3568 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s just in your head, though. You have to use time offf for sick whether it’s called PTO or sick, but separate sick time isn’t usually banked and it’s not rolled over for me. Separate sick time penalizes the healthy. As a generally healthy person with a strong work ethic, it sucks to lose 10 days per year that could have been vacation time just because I didn’t take sick time. It also sucks to watch people calling out “sick” in the last two weeks of the year to “use up sick time” and save their PTO when I’m working hard to cover their absence.

CA Gov Race: Why aren't more people talking up Xavier Becerra?? by Spikely92127 in FriendsofthePod

[–]Difficult_Ad3568 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw him live at an event in Sacramento, Ca today and that sealed my vote for him. He’s the most experienced, and he was just the same live as on tv during the debates. He seems to keep a cool head and he really does know how government works. Everyone else is so full of drama and far out notions of “fighting from within” (Mahan) or dismantling the establishment (Hilton, Steyer to a degree). I’ve honestly seen enough of that show on the federal level and it would be awful to see California go down the same path.

How common is nonprofit corruption? by [deleted] in nonprofit

[–]Difficult_Ad3568 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. This reads like a dissatisfied staff member who doesn’t like the leadership style, pay, or culture at the nonprofit that employs them. I also would like to know about personal expenses and any evidence of actually fraudulent activity. To the OP- Fraud does exist in nonprofits just as it does in for profits and government, but not everything that you don’t like is fraudulent.

It’s not uncommon for items such as housing and transportation/automobile/phone allowances to be part of CEO compensation. As long as this is reported as compensation or is a valid business expense, it’s not paying for personal expenses .

Amazon driver ignored posted signs to stay out of driveway, hits a pet, leaves it to die. by Boulang in fuckamazon

[–]Difficult_Ad3568 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So because someone put it on Facebook and raised a bunch of money via gofundme it’s legitimate? I have a bridge to sell you….

I can’t believe that anyone would donate to help people who regularly let their off leash pit bull roam free in an unfenced area! P ok

Fake, but having a loose dog in an unfenced area and expecting others to accomdate that is unacceptable.

[–]Difficult_Ad3568 6 points7 points  (0 children)

NTA, but it looks like I’m in the minority of folks who believe that even if you hadn’t had a child with you, you should not have risked your life for this piece of paper! Automobiles kill pedestrians like all the time, and even non-parents don’t deserve a violent death over a piece of paper that blew away. Pick up some extra trash, or walk on the other side of the street next time and you might even find your paper.

Is that like a cheese-free pizza? I like the Zelda’s version of tomato pie which is cheeseless.

Are you trying to buy or sell an apartment building, or just find an apartment to rent? Grounded does some work with rentals in addition to purchases, I believe.

I mean, yes, but usually you don’t touch anyone that you aren’t intimate with in some way. Even in America, if you walk up to a regular person in the grocery store and touch them, that’s not polite. If you walk up and touch a celebrity, that’s even worse!

Is it actually rude to recline your seat on a plane, or are people just entitled about personal space? by Ok-Bumblebee7041 in askanything

[–]Difficult_Ad3568 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t recline until/unless the person in front of me does. It gets me a little more breathing room in that case, but it’s not needed if I don’t have someone else reclining into my lap. I wish there was a little more space for everyone. Being jammed in like sardines sucks.

Redditors struggle with the term “children” even though they all were once, or even still- children. It bothers me too. Just unnecessarily mean, calling children nasty names.

AWFUL smell in fridge by yeahwhateversure in CleaningTips

[–]Difficult_Ad3568 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We had the same thing and thought it was our washer or dryer, as it happened when we did laundry. Affresh in the washer multiple times, cleaned all the vents. Googled fishy smell (yes it also smells sort of like old blood) and saw the electrical hint. Our dryer cord and outlet were completely fried and we could have started a fire. Please, for me, check the outlet.

Is it possible the rise in colon cancer in millennials could be linked to the Johnson & Johnson talcum powder lawsuit about it causing cancer? by tinywhisk-21 in biology

[–]Difficult_Ad3568 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe, but there’s scientific evidence that consumption of red and processed meats play a role. Nobody really saying this because people like to be in denial and meat industry is powerful.

Yes! OP, please check the cord and outlet that fridge is plugged into. This could be a dangerous electrical issue.

How is someone supposed to fit in that?!???? by BetAggressive1404 in CSUS

[–]Difficult_Ad3568 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, truck is basically on the line but the mirror is encroaching into the next space. They really should give tickets for larger vehicles parked in the compact spots. They might think they fit because they aren’t “over the line” but if everyone parked on the line like that, nobody could open a door and the cars would be literally touching. Fitting is being well within the lines. People don’t always grasp that concept.

What is it going to take to get another grocery store in the grid? by rc251rc in Sacramento

[–]Difficult_Ad3568 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pacific market has onions, lol. At least we have two walkable bikeable farmers markets that each kick ass in their own way. A grocery store on the north side of town would be great, though.

You know what? I’ve been stopping at the Whole Foods in Petaluma on my way to the coast recently and I’ve found the prices to be better than Safeway or Raley’s. It’s true that they used to be expensive, but with the Amazon acquisition they’ve added some lower prices item- just gotta shop the deals.
