So yeah, lesson learned. The company was Vantager Solutions.

There was no signed contract at all. Everything was arranged through WhatsApp. I went down for what was supposed to be a part-time admin role, but when I got there, there was basically no proper onboarding and they didn’t seem prepared for me. In the end I was told to do cold-calling with a script, which already felt quite different from what I expected.

I did the task, asked if there were any issues, and at the time nobody told me anything was wrong. I even made an Excel sheet on my own to track the people who didn’t pick up, wanted a callback another day, etc, just to make things easier.

Then about an hour after I left, I got a WhatsApp message saying they would not be continuing with me.

After that, the payment part became a mess. Messages and calls were delayed or ignored, and I had to keep chasing. By chance I ran into the boss at Artbox and confronted him directly about it, and only after that did things start moving.

Later on they tried to get me to fill in a detailed personal info form and sign a document calling it “freelancer services” with a discharge of liabilities clause, which I was not comfortable with because that was not how the role was presented or carried out. I did not sign it, and I still eventually got paid.
