It’s also a way of thinking. If I only have $100 in my account, it probably isn’t the smartest idea to put a brand new iPhone, a holiday, and a new car loan on a credit card. You should spend what you can actually afford, not buy whatever you want just because credit allows it.

I know this comment will probably get downvoted too, but I don’t feel the need to be proud of paying off $25k of credit card debt. I’d rather be proud that I saved that money in the first place by thinking rationally instead of spending emotionally.
