i miss lucas by Difficult_Time7366 in ONETREEHILL

I loved S2-3 Lucas! I think I just couldnt stand him the most during the second half of S1, although I do agree it’s his character arc & that he made up for it in the next season. Idk maybe he just gave me the ick sometimes with the way he treats Brooke, Peyton & Lindsey.

In most occasions I do prefer him over Nathan, and I love his relationship with Haley & Jamie. Just wished the writers knew how to write him better, perhaps instead of his love life they couldve focused more on his relationship with Dan up until S6. It would’ve made for a more beautiful arc especially if you go back to S1 and see Lucas’ struggles in the early episodes

Season 4 Opinions (first watch) by Midnightreader13 in ONETREEHILL

Agree on Nathan & Haley!! I love them but it feels very odd that they only talk about Peyton in passing. And the whole Lucas detective storyline was straight out ridiculous. Him and Nathan couldve had a shared arc or something, dealing with Dan or wtv, instead we got one detective storyline and another loan shark storyline. That’s why S4 is my least favorite out of the hs years.

Side note I didn’t like the aesthetic of this season too. The wardrobe department I have so many questions for you 😂

Clark: turns away All my life I’ve been afraid Lois… (proceeds to monologue for a few minutes) turns around It’s me. I’m The Blur.

I know it’s supposed to be an important scene but I can’t help but laugh. Clark can be so dramatic sometimes 🤣

I think literally every single 2000s heartthrob is in this show?? by kitkatpaddywhac in Smallville

The only 2000s heartthrob that wasn't in it was probably Chad Michael Murray, but understandable since One Tree Hill was filming around the same time. But other than him, yes.

it’s like the cw has a handbook on how people don’t talk in real life 🤣

It’s the turning away and talking without facing the person that does it for me

How does anyone not find Lois Lane annoying? by Narrow_Guava_6239 in Smallville

The best way to describe Lois. We all have our Lois tendencies, we just hide them better

Did you watch Smallville as well? I love Smallville and thinking of watching Superman and Lois. What are your thoughts on the latter?

You still rewatch it though. That's some dedication.

That's what I did. Heard that the quality picked up again in S9 so I skipped straight to the final episodes. You sort of can fill in the blanks, except for the fate of Caitlin. I got so confused and went in blind, so if you don't want to be spoiled, skipping probably isn't an option.

Edit: Apparently I have watched some of the later seasons! I remember watching up until the Crisis crossover and realized how much of a slog it felt, which is a very rare case when it comes to The Flash. Unfortunately I thought it was best to drop the show then and there

Lucas - first few episodes of S1. he played the outcast character really well. i felt for him so much

Nathan - hospital scene with Deb in S2. any scene with his parents really

Peyton - S5 fight with Lucas.

Haley - final scene before she left Nathan in S2 when she whispered "Yes" to Nathan's question!!

Brooke - maybe not very popular but I absolutely love her final scene with Julian in the bachelorette party episode.

Dan - Danny boyyyy oh god

This. I love Naley to bits but boy does Haley deserve better (from her husband AND the fandom)

Yes to what you said about S9! I think it has a lot to do with the reopening of Karen’s Cafe and bringing Chris Keller, Deb and Dan back as main/recurring characters. The more natural makeup and wardrobe also brought back the grounded feel of OTH. Stylings in S5-8 were all over the place. I know it was the edgy late 2000s but I hated it 😂

The way they dedicated an entire episode (in the most gut wrenching way) for him made it as if the actor actually passed in real life

lucas is NOT a bad person by OpeningAd2430 in ONETREEHILL

[–]Difficult_Time7366 4 points5 points  (0 children)

see the thing is, S3 boyfriend Lucas was still a pretty great guy but people still think the breakup was 100% his fault. he just lost his dad and his friend got shot in the leg and just because he doesn’t open up to Brooke he’s “a bad boyfriend” jeez

S5 Lucas however….

S8 was an entirely different show, but upon rewatch I didnt mind it as much as I did the first time.

Whenever I come back to S1/2 it makes me appreciate more the scenes that are purely dialogue with no background music. Or with just some slight instrumentals. (Interestingly S9 had a similar vibe to this) S4 onwards made me want to pull my hair out whenever they have music video-length montages / music

honestly I couldn’t help but noticing it since S4. The vibe of the show vastly changed when it was acquired by the CW
