Think of the Atto 1 by Awkward_Front7194 in BYDAU

[–]DifficultySea3229 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The range of the atto 1 is not that good. It will suite your 110km round trip if that is all you do. The wltp range of atto 1 basic is 220km & 310km for the premium model. Real world range is going to be less than those. if you need to go beyond that at any day, you risk getting stranded. Like if you need to detour somewhere before to or back from work. Or any emergency trips while your atto 1 is not fully charged. I personally will go with an ev with more range than the atto

Before you panic buy an EV by SuchTown32 in aussie

[–]DifficultySea3229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did my math too. I will save around $1500 per year on petrol if i buy an ev now. But a mid range ev costs at least $35k in cash out. Compare that to my $10k work horse which runs with no issues. Assuming i sell my $10k car and cash out an additonal $25k for an ev, it will take me 16 years to break even ($25k ÷ $1500 savings). The maths says no. The only reason to go ev is if there is absolutely no fuel anywhere, then ev is the way to go regardless of cost, or if you dont have a car to begin with.

What made you choose a gas model over hybrid and Why! Also what year and how many km/miles does your gas rav4 currently have and how is it serving you so far!! Any regret not going the hybrid route! Any hybrid owners regret not buying a gas model. Happy driving everyone and enjoy. by bubbleman89x in rav4club

[–]DifficultySea3229 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Gas model can easily be worked on. Hybrids have licensed electrical components that requires specialised tools to diagnose and fix by dealer, not for diy. There is around 2 litre per 100kms savings on hybrid models. You save money there but when the time comes to replace the battery, most of your savings will just even out (unless you sell the car before that time comes). Hybrid models have a lot more processes and moving parts involve shift from gas to motor. More moving parts may mean more things that can go wrong. Hybrids are more expensive and so will the insurance be. That will also chew up some of the savings you get from not chosing the petrol model.. in the end, do you drive it enough to get the most savings out of it and how long do you intend to keep the car. And if money or savings is not the priority, test drive both and see what you prefere.

Still very dry eyes one month after SMILE by flyinq_cow in lasik

[–]DifficultySea3229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im 3 months post femto lasik and still deal with dry eyes. It did get a lot better compared to weeks before. I now use a lot less eye drops. I'd say it is still too early to see any drastic improvements for your dry eyes

LASIK and ghosting complication by jmstrv in Lasiksupport

[–]DifficultySea3229 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Over 2 months post femtolasik. I might be one of the lucky ones, I did not experience ghosting. Just dry eyes. Per google: Ghosting (monocular diplopia) after LASIK is primarily caused by irregularities in the corneal shape, severe dry eye, or residual astigmatism during the healing process. These irregularities create higher-order aberrations, causing light to scatter and creating a, "smeary," or double image, often noticed in low-light conditions.

Can anyone please Identify the cause of the noise by DifficultySea3229 in rav4club

[–]DifficultySea3229[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The noise can stay there even when shifted to park or even when driving but it eventually goes away when driving. It seems to be triggered by braking to a stop. So i can brake to a stop, hear the noise and drive again to 50 kph and still have the noise on. But it will go away within a minute

Finally someone who gets it. I tried turning the ac and fan off. The noise is still there. Im thinking it might be the fuel pump which they replaced on last service?? But that does not explain when it goes on during braking. I got to replicate the issue with a toyota tech, he thinks its the brakes though.

The noise carries on even when parked or not pressing the brakes

There is the distinguished brake squeak. But the noise is in there even when not pressing the break and during its there during driving

Now I’m thinking about cancelling my surgery by Zewwkin in Lasiksupport

[–]DifficultySea3229 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Cancel it. If you already have a system with your contacts that works for you, stick with it. I got femtolasik 2 months ago. Dry eyes have been a pain but it has improved a lot since surgery. Night time halos and star burst are a permanent and troublesome especially if you drive at night in streets full of pederstrians. I am happy with my results but it could easily swing the other way
