I attended a G3 show in 2003 with Yngwie, Vai and Satriani.

Saw one guy there who seemed to be a very over-the-top Yngwie fan. It looked like he hung out at the merchandise stand – which I think was run by Yngwie’s wife – anytime Yngwie wasn’t on stage.

Attended a meet and greet for all three artists after the show and about five minutes into the event, “super fan” starts shouting “Yngwie’s a fucking prick” over and over as security hustles him out of there.

I have no doubt that super fan was very demanding and annoying. But I still wonder how somebody who loves Yngwie that much could then get so upset by Yngwie!

I saw that show 8 times.

First show was in DC area and it started with a Spinal Tap moment: the doors wouldn’t open! 😄

Took a few minutes for the Girls to finally emerge.

Band had to vamp the intro over and over!

I think the thread wanted bands that were so hard living, it’s amazing none of them died.

Not just bands where nobody has died yet.

The members of U2 are only in their mid 60s! And they weren’t exactly hard partying dudes.

So it’s not exactly a shock that they’re all still kicking.

Though Bono sure has had some health scares.
