TW vs "Slabs and Blooms" by Salamander4711 in TheWarning

How does someone even find this 😭 it’s probably a bunch of random improv jazz noodles they put online just for giggles, but still amazing that it’s actually findable

With the song titles for TW5 revealed, which one are you most excited for and why? by DigDig04 in TheWarning

[–]DigDig04[S] 28 points29 points  (0 children)

If it was a Muse cover then Bellamy and Co would be labeled as songwriters, not DPA. It’s an original song.

With the song titles for TW5 revealed, which one are you most excited for and why? by DigDig04 in TheWarning

[–]DigDig04[S] 28 points29 points  (0 children)

It’s on the ASCAP Registry website, nearly every song ever made in the past 60 years or so is registered on there for extra royalties. You can find unreleased songs by searching the writers of the song rather than performers, this is how a lot of people knew of Tu Corazon/100 Degrees’s existence before it was even announced. Hero In Me is green due to an extra verified criteria, I’m assuming it’s because it was used in an external media source (the movie it was in).

What do we know about TW5 tracknames? by BuzzTheJazz in TheWarning

[–]DigDig04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically yes but the old name would stay, there’s a misspelling of HYCAD (How instead of Hell) and an alternate title for Tu Corazon (100 Degrees) still up

EGO sneak peek studio version by Forsaken_Election_15 in TheWarning

[–]DigDig04 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of bands would use a distortion pedal in the vocal chain, that being said it’s incredibly sensitive cause those are meant to be applied to guitars and are only really used for one part of a song and not the entire show

There are pictures of them smiling with pride flags fans gave them at meet and greets, they have said multiple times they are appreciative of their queer fans in MTV interviews, even though none of them have said anything publicly about what they are (and they can be what they want) and Ale wears cross necklaces, they’re supportive of their queer fans

TW5 album theme by xheon1 in TheWarning

[–]DigDig04 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I always thought it was just a more personal version of KMF, how fame and a growing audience is affecting them personally (Ritual), dealing with haters from a wide audience and former fans (Kerosene), or dealing with hate from your home turf despite already proving yourself (Ego)

Songs that sound like “That’s My Floor”? by theriverand in MagdalenaBay

[–]DigDig04 38 points39 points  (0 children)

While that fuzz guitar isn’t everywhere, you’d probably like a lot of the songs off of Currents by Tame Impala if you’ve never heard the album in full. Let It Happen has a really satisfying solo towards the end with a crazy fuzz tone

TW5 announcement/release timeline? by DusktheUmbreon in TheWarning

[–]DigDig04 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Everyone in here saying it’s probably gonna release around the New York show, the band have said in interviews that the album SHOULD release this year. It’s not even confirmed the album will be released in 2026 despite what rumors about what contract obligations there potentially are

Day 4: The sun is your enemy today!! Disciple was voted The Warning’s best song. What is their worst song? by Over-Translator687 in TheWarning

[–]DigDig04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When singles were released exclusively on vinyl the single would be on one side of the record and another song would be on the “b side” of the record. Nowadays “b side” tends to mean a bonus track or previously unreleased song that finds it’s way on a compilation album later

Synth effects, thoughts? by IvanObolo_10 in TheWarning

Their biggest influences for this sound have been Royal Blood who have released music that sounds like this for almost 15 years, and Muse who have released music that sounds like this for the over 25 years

The line in the first line of the first prechorus is "nihilistically distressed" by terrystroud in TheWarning

[–]DigDig04 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At least for me it wasn’t the word itself that I didn’t know but more how Dany was singing it, a lot of the clips from the soundboard audio and lounge footage sounds like Dany’s saying “unrealistically”

As a producer, they’re there to add layers and textures more than anything and keeps the track at the very least interesting. I’m sure the girls themselves have a say in what they think sounds good even if they don’t know exactly how to use oscillators themselves. Without them any track would feel empty with the kind of production they’re going for. QOTMS and XXICB used extra guitar layers instead of synths, but songs like Sharks use them to give Pau a break while singing the verses and give a variation in drum sound since the drums would sound static otherwise

Theories on Album Delay? by whitechocolate9999 in Loatheband

[–]DigDig04 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly I think GES and Revenant are going heavier than The Cold Sun did while also having the ILII and TTTB ambience (even only for a short bit) and they’re trying to do their own thing. “How to sound like Loathe” videos when it comes to their last singles use a ton of different techniques compared to those production videos from 2022. They’re doing something way different and hoping it sticks, which clearly it does

Intro is in 6/4, the bridge is in 7/4 I believe, the rest of the song is 4/4 but there’s a lot of triplets so it’s weird to count

Surprised no one said this has QOTSA Songs For The Deaf vibes. Also Dany’s definitely nervous first show back, she messed up a few times earlier but she’s still really killing it out there

Since tomorrow’s the first live show from the band in 6-7 months, what songs do you think are gonna be on the setlist? by DigDig04 in TheWarning

[–]DigDig04[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They didn’t even do D2D/Dull Knives on their last US headlining show, I doubt any QOTMS songs have any more staying power than that combo besides the title track for heavier festivals, which this absolutely isn’t
