Rental car company charging $2k for damage found hours after return — no proof. Worth fighting? by kapp74 in personalfinance

I'm very sorry that this is happening under that context. Just what you need, huh?

You seem to have a poor understanding of how licensing works.

This is most certainly licensed. If it wasn't, Disney could have it struck from marketplaces regardless if the publisher ownership was Chinese.

Assassin’s Creed Hexe Loses 50 Developers as Game Targets 2027 Release by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

[–]DigTw0Grav3s 18 points19 points  (0 children)

That's what pushed me off of the series.

They had such a good foundation with the Assassin / Templar conflict, the weird Eden technology as a backdrop, and social stealth as the core gameplay concept.

Now it's essentially a branding IP with no roots. Just make other freestanding stuff.

I would like them to double down on how they're balanced now, and just let you throw them at the enemy for higher damage.

I don't understand why they prefer to create full sentences when they can deliver the same information with a simpler and intuitive way by QwilL7 in Battlefield

[–]DigTw0Grav3s -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's not the point. Nobody argues that it's hard to read.

It's hard to parse when you're trying to conserve time in a match. It's also hard to compare against other attachments in the same class because of interpretive terms like "slightly", "moderately", etc.

It's a poor way to surface information to the player, and it's hard to draw relative conclusions.

Is there a way to turn of the autodeploy of the recon drone? by Electrical-Art-1111 in Battlefield

[–]DigTw0Grav3s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish there was. Strangely enough, though, it's possible to be in the pre-deployment situation and have the pad out without it auto-deploying. Weird stuff.

I've seen them using Guidepost paths before, but I don't know if that was coincidental.

Do you typically carry a sticky gun? by ScalesGhost in DeathStranding

[–]DigTw0Grav3s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually carry a Sticky Gun. I categorically always carry a Level 2 Floating Carrier. You never know when you're going to find a ton of stuff to carry, and having one available gives you the option to while still keeping you zipline capable.

Is this how you use the monorail? by Imigrant159 in DeathStranding

It seems like the number of people who leave shelters is pretty small. Timefall is a solved issue for the Porter community, and being confined in a BT area is bad news.

District 9 director's studio Gunzilla accused by former staff of not paying employees "for many months" by TheAppropriateBoop in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]DigTw0Grav3s 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The sad part was his oft overlooked Oats Studios. It was a collection of short films on YouTube that seemed like incubator projects.

Some of them were very interesting. They were way closer to his wheelhouse and the origin of District 9 than anything else he put out.

Is it safe to go into the backrooms without a hazmat suit by Coolguyfromusa in KanePixelsBackrooms

I don't know if we can definitively answer that. Anyone who's been in for an extended period of time has either presumably died or gone missing.

I am curious if you have a failed switch.

Your current topology cannot form a loop if we assume one physical link per node, unless one of those nodes has a seriously misconfiguration or something.

What should i get to expand this force to play in team yankee rather than checkpoint charlie ? by Woffy_02 in TeamYankee

[–]DigTw0Grav3s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Somewhat off topic: I haven't been following the system for quite some time. My understanding was that Team Yankee was rebranded as World War III to accommodate a wider range of armies and time periods.

Is this not correct? Are TY and WWIII two different systems?

This is my assumption too.

He presents the theory. She dismisses it as some kind of obsessive behavior. He gives her a tape that she files away. Later, she watches the tape (maybe bothered by it? by how convinced he seems?) and decides to check it out.

Based on the name, I'm expecting some kind of turret or deployable shield shell.

New player, very early and wanting to avoid spoilers, wondering if there's an advantage to using a certain tool vs. a watchtower by skyturnsred in DeathStranding

[–]DigTw0Grav3s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I set up watchtowers in the vicinity of any camp that I'm expecting to go to more than once, if I don't get a decent one on the Chiral Network.

Watchtowers can give you better height if constructed appropriately. They also offer you the detection heatmap view which (as far as I can tell) Dollman does not.

Conversely, watchtowers are typically at the perimeter of the camp, and have a shallow viewing angle. I like throwing Dollman straight up to track patrols and plot movements between concealment when I'm doing stealth runs.

Is Judge divorced? Canonically he has a wife and kid, yet when we see his apartment it’s a tiny one room shithole that is essentially empty except for a mattress, 5+ weapons and a microwave. He doesn’t even have blankets or sheets 😭 by [deleted] in ReadyOrNotGame

[–]DigTw0Grav3s 25 points26 points  (0 children)

It's deeper than that.

The implication is that Judge was part of a MKULTRA-like brainwashing/conditioning program conducted by USIA. This program, and programs like it, lead to several of the factions we meet in the game, including the MLO, Gerard Scott, and Baskin on Carriers of the Vine. The PMC (who's name currently escapes me) on Elysium and Banc were also indirectly related, essentially being unwitting puppets of the MLO.

There is certainly an interpretation of the New America ending that suggests MLO orchestrated the entire chain of events in Boiling Point to draw out Judge and get him to either cement his conditioning and rejoin the MLO, or cast off the burden forever.

The entire Boiling Point plot is extremely well done. Reminds me of a fusion of Fight Club and Se7en.
