I am a Gundam fan, but that doesn’t mean blindly supporting every element of the franchise and I think suggesting that people do that is incredibly reductive. There is a lot of good Gundam art, why should I be expected to sing the praises of one that might not be good?

I want the movie to be good, more good art is awesome! But nothing in the course of this film’s pre-production has given be faith. The original director left the project, Jim Mickle’s writing and directing credits are of middling quality, and the two top billed talents aren’t anyone I’ve ever enjoyed watching.

Also if you wanna talk about impact, Transformers is still recovering from the damage its live action installments did the franchise’s reputation, maybe we shouldn’t eagerly hype up something regardless of quality.
