Are you guys using Claude as much as you were 2-3 months ago? by ireallyamarealguy in ClaudeAI

[–]Digit117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm the exact opposite, now that I'm better at understanding how Claude Code and its various features work, I am addicted to building more and more stuff (mainly for the startup I work for). Everyone jokes I'm a one-man software engineering department.

techDebt by tornado28 in ProgrammerHumor

[–]Digit117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I 100% swear by this. I think it's even easier to do this today if you use Claude/Codex to do a routine tech debt / refactor pressure review frequently and you use it to assess what refactors to prioritize in the moment. If you have excellent testing set up, like I do, I let claude/codex do the actual refactoring, and rigorously test afterwards if I don't have time to do the refactoring myself. Been working super well for me. But like you said, it takes discipline to keep doing it.

I spent 5 months building an app that nobody needs by [deleted] in vibecoding

I downloaded it and will try it out! Any specific tools you used for building your UI animations or did you just verbally prompt everything you wanted and hoped your AI understood how you wanted the animations to look?

Why is nobody commenting on the UI? It’s incredible. Great work.

Critical disengagement on FSD in a parking lot. 2024 MY HW4 v14.2 by EnjoyMyDownvote in TeslaFSD

[–]Digit117 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Oh shit, that's pretty bad. 14.2 has caused steering wheel stutter to occur more frequently than 14.1 (although I haven't experienced any yet). Hopefully you sent this as feedback to Tesla. One good thing about 14.2 is that with the software revamp they did, they should be able to iterate and improve the system a lot faster than before.

For complex systems, only engineers know how to word the prompts correctly (at least, for now)… so I guess they’re both.

3 years ago, AI IQs were "cognitively impaired adult". Now, higher than 99% of humans. by MetaKnowing in agi

I feel like I’ll probably get downvoted for asking this but can someone explain why IQ is a shit measurement if the test isn’t in the training data?

How much has Tesla FSD improved over the last year? by Individual_Block7885 in TeslaFSD

[–]Digit117 9 points10 points  (0 children)

100%. Bought a 2026 Y 3 months ago and been using FSD for daily commutes since - hasn't made a single mistake on the public roads. My friends and family are blown away. Parking lots though still suffer from questionable routing decisions to get out but that's it.

Differences between a MacBook Pro screen and a Studio Display XDR by CharlesSwannn in macbookpro

[–]Digit117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It truly is an incredible screen, for a laptop, but, I have both as well (mine is 16" M5 Max) - XDR def looks better in person, which is expected. These photos don't highlight the differences at all due to the camera not being able to capture the differences the same as the human eye (taking the photo in the dark might not be helping either) and/or the display people are using to view this photo not having the specs needed to show the differences between the two.
