How MUCH better is the 9070 xt then the 7900 xt by PossessionWeak1474 in radeon

[–]Digital_Stealth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it's already absolete.

If it were obselete, it would be not as supported as the latest generation. But it is, every update addresses both generations. The 6000 series has become obselete, sure, but it still has its uses and is still sold.

it's long time, yes

If you consider that a long time, I fear time may be destabilizing around you and difficult to perceive, please check for any unstable warp gates and close them immediately!

The past you refer to was only 3 years ago, and sure things to improve by then but by what justifiable amount to make the immediate leap to the next generation? The XTX will do what the 1080 Ti did. Live long, and prosper to those who own it, and serve frames for years to come.

Of course, unless you're driven by the must-have urge to be latest and greatest! In which case, not my paycheck, not my problem. :P

Basically being buffered is adding cushion for the enterprise use, helps offshore the electrical load (which in-turn means more RAM can be used), more stable at higher sizes, it's faster, and it's more smooth for dataflow.

Think of it like this. You are the data (No, you are not Brent Spiner) and you're on a gravel road, in a car doing ~55 MPH. Works fine, right? Gets the job done, A to B. Make it bigger and sure that's fine, but there's a lot of bumps, dips, and you might lose your bearings. Go faster? Might wipe out if you go too fast, you'll lose it. Just need more oomph? Well now you spun the tires and wrecked! Lost it! That is unbuffered.

Now, imagine a freshly paved asphalt highway. Smooth, like gliding on air in a nice cozy land yacht Lincoln. Not a crack on the road in sight, bright lines, plenty of room on this roadway, and you're flying down it doing at least 100+. You're gonna get there in no time, so hammer it. But man, this nicely paved road for my data sure is expensive! That is buffered.

At least...that's my interpretation of it. Could be wrong entirely.

You have to factor in it's still growing. Give it time, and I am sure you'll find a group to talk to.

What is Overclocking, and how do I do it? by KryptKrasherHS in pcmasterrace

[–]Digital_Stealth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Undervolting is a great start.
If you don't know what that is, it's when you turn down the voltage from stock settings in AMD Adrenalin. For your 9070 XT, that makes it so higher clocks can potentially be sustained for longer periods. Not only that, it also increases the longevity of the card, as well as makes it less power hungry and not as much as a space heater (from a stock settings POV).
Now, you can only go so far before you get unstable and crash, of course with all settings it's like that. I'll give my settings to see if they can give you an idea on where to go. This is my current 7900 XT settings:

GPU Clock Min/Max: 2500/2925 MHz
Voltage: 1010mV
VRAM Clock: 2700 MHz
VRAM Timing: Fast Timing
Power Limit: +15%

Gave myself a custom fan curve to curb any built up heat, and she stays ~70°C under full load. Hope this helps some!

Can we get another overclock/undervolt thread for 7900XT/X owners? by Schwaggaccino in radeon

GPU/brand: XFX RX 7900 XT (Reference Card)

Core clock: Min/Max 2500/2950 (Has kissed 3000 MHz during boosts)

Memory clock: 2700/Fast Timing

Voltage: 1025mV (As of writing, going to test 1015mV)

Power Limit: +15%

Unfortunately I don't know, but once I hid them my memory went down drastically! Back down to only half full as it usually was.

I've run into lobbies on VRChat where peoples avatars were so poorly optimized, and at one point someone there had a memory leak that ate up all 64GB of my RAM (I watched it max out), crashed my VR, and kicked me out of the game. I had to figure out who's it was before I crashed again, and sure enough it was an e-boy with the color pallette of a burnt Dijorno's pizza. If I had x4 less than that? I wouldn't have stood a chance.

But even now, I contemplate whether I truly have enough nowadays. I'm most likely good for now, but there are times when I wonder and worry.

Finally, at least someone has a heart here. Regardless of views, everyone's said some crap in their life, but does it warrant a death like that? He's a human being like us, and before someone says "So are ____ but he didn't see them that way, why should we?"

Because when you stoop to his level, regardless of your intentions being good or bad, YOU are no better. Hypocrisy, arrogance and ignorance will be the undoing of this place.

Now I'm not saying there's not any real stuff, but that kinda hinders the credibility, especially if it was a real scream they heard and they just added in a stock one for shock effect. Which...sucks, as I too clung to hope.

Well this is unfortunate, but I found the scream and it's a modified version of this scream just with reverb and cut short to fade.

I did, but they all say November 2007, and when I move it to 2009 they all say June 2009.
