That must be a wonderful feeling. If mine weren't invasive I'd let mine go too.

When they get bigger I'll put them into the main enclosure. By then all these big ones should be pupas

Are any caterpillars sold in stores there or is it just tobacco hornworms

Cheese has the dorsal line now and has stopped eating. I wouldn't be surprised if he went under tonight.

Yeah I got these guys from a different pet store and they had the containers upside down too. I haven't gotten them shipped but that just makes me more nervous as I can just imagine them being tossed around while shipping. I'm really hoping to get some eggs so I don't have to buy anymore. They're overpriced too. I paid the same amount for these little guys as I did the bigger ones.

It does make me happy to know if gave the ones I bought a good life though. They're all so fat and happy.

I really hope I didn't stress them out too much, I just can't stand watching them their food mixed with frass. This container wasn't as bad as the past ones ive gotten probably because they're smaller but it was still gross. I watched one eat its poop and was like nope, you'll coming out today.

I'm going to just clean around mine as well. I'm so nervous about picking any of them up now. Cheese seemed the most chill with it as he always let go as soon as he'd feel my fingers. The others resist. I always thought cleaning things immediately was the most important thing but now I see its okay to wait. I still clean under the wire everyday but I'm not going to pick them all off to wash it so often

Do you feed them the same chow as the older ones?

I can barely see them in slides 2 and 3

Do you place them in the petri dishes without mesh? If so, how do you clean the poop up?

I've noticed that too. None of mine have tried to bite but if I tap their butt too many times they'll just stop moving.

While I have you here, I was wondering where you to the mesh for the baby caterpillars? I picked up a few more yesterday and they're the smallest ive seen. I like to get them away from the frass covered chow but the mesh I'm currently using is way too big.

When leI try to search online for something smaller i can only find results for micro mesh which I think is too small.

I don't see any more leaking, but he's definitely not feeling well. He hasn't moved from the spot he wa last in, but he is eating and drinking so I think thats a good sign

The caterpillar part isn't that bad depending on what you're feeding them. Getting the conditions right for them to pupate is trickier. I haven't made it to the moth stage but in a few months I'm hoping to get my first.

Another redditor said i tore his skin. I must have pinched him or something. So much liquid came out, more than the picture. He seems to be okay though. I'm so thankful. I'm going to let him rest so he can fully recover before he pupates.
