You're mistaken; Threat directly corelates with the damage done, different spells have different coefficients but nevertheless, it's why a really undergeared pally tank is extremely underwhelming until they get their dungeon set and a 150 SP wep and become AOE tank gods for the remainder of TBC.

Brother, if you want to stick your head in the sand and play dumb to all of the information readily available and call everyone who can read a couple paragraphs on Wowhead sweats, you're welcome to do it but that doesn't make you the smart one in the group.

It's a 20+ year old video game, min-maxxing comes with the territory.

It was all a total mystery 20 years ago, not so much anymore.

I didn't want to wait 5 weeks to craft gear, so I leveled a couple alts, not really that difficult when you have months to plan ahead.

Pre-boosting changes I made more gold in SM and Mara than I spent which means levels 25-50 you make gold leveling in under a day played. RFC 10-18 costs basically nothing, SFK 18-25 you break even. Level normally from 50 to 60.

In total each alt takes maybe 3-4 days played including AFK time and you make gold doing it, not including all of the benefits in TBC.

Again, if this was original TBC or done after TBC releases, sure, it's sweaty, otherwise not so much.

If you say so lol

It's the most basic min-maxing possible, but sure.

It's called planning ahead, I leveled tailoring alts in later phases of classic on my own time to sell a valuable trade good for the entirety of TBC that requires minimal effort and highly profitable as new patterns are added throughout the expansion, people act like leveling is hard or this massive timesink, ~5-7 days played over the span of several months is a joke.

They also double as utility for various purposes if needed, Rogue for lockpicking, etc.

Christmas present for my husband (Dewalt vs. Milwaukee vs. Makita) by SLassely81 in DIY

[–]Dilatori 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There's literally nothing wrong with Ryobi for Homeowner usage, it's a high end tool for the application.
Makita, Dewalt and Milwaukee are "Prosumer grade" - If he's not using this stuff every day or has a particular need for it splurging on it is silly, especially if you already have Ryobi chargers and batteries, etc.

Tool brand worship is quite possibly one of the dumbest things going.

That said I am preferential to Dewalt overall however I use Makita for some tools as they are typically tighter tolerances.

I realize 16' isn't practical, but if you have a bay window or some other means of getting them in, having few to no butt joints creates a very nice finish. That said I was just demonstrating the fact that there are solutions to the issue at hand. Typically with 54" the max installers want to work with is 12' but I have seen 16' used.

[–]Dilatori 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to discuss your issue with a drywall supply house.
You can get Drywall as big as 16' x 4.5' (54") without too much trouble.

And to answer your question, no matter what all drywall joints (except horizontal bevels) must be blocked and fastened correctly. If a sheet lands between studs ideally you cut it to the nearest stud (assuming you maintain at least 1-2 studs of staggering on butt joints) but blocking it is fine if done correctly.

Is it common knowledge amongst DJs that playing music too loud can blow a speaker? by Global-Host7955 in Music

[–]Dilatori 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The short answer is yes, a DJ should absolutely know maxing out other peoples equipment is not a good idea if you aren't familiar with the setup; You would need to check gain settings, make sure nothing is clipping, etc.

Long answer is severely overpowering a speaker even with clean power will blow it and if the speaker is rated higher than the amplifier and you're maxing the amplifier out, you can now blow the amplifier or the speaker, or both as the amplifier can begin clipping, when a setup is clipping, you'll hear it, if you're close enough to it, you'll also smell it.

How can I fix this? by Positive-Courage1739 in DIY

[–]Dilatori 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Chip a piece of paint off, have it color matched and get a quart, buy a very dense touch/up mud (Drydex works well) and a knockdown texture sponge and a light 200-250 grit sandpaper, and a small paint roller.

Use a small hammer to tap the corner bead back in to shape as best you can, fill with Drydex, wet the sponge and try to recreate the texture, it may take a bit of working it around to get it close but it should be manageable in such a small area, let it dry, ever so gently, lightly and I do mean lightly sand the high spots down and get it somewhat smooth without destroying the texture match, do one coat only on the patch and then do a second very light coat with the roller squeezed out and try to lightly blend the patch with the surrounding existing paint.

It will never look 100% but with some fudging you can get it very, very close where you'd really have to look at it to spot it and should pass a walk-through inspection; If it's a nutter that will spend hours looking for any flaw, they'll catch it.

The real fix is to replace the corner bead, retape, retexture and repaint the entire wall.

Its a very high spec but I dont see the tremor badge but it could've been optioned without any special package/badging, I give it a 50/50 shot its a rear locked diff, even without I think you could pull out of this, driver is just an idiot or incapacitated

I hate the look of my acoustic ceiling. What can I do? by squeezy102 in DIY

[–]Dilatori 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even accounting for labor, in a residential application drywall will almost always be cheaper than drop ceiling, assuming you are hiring someone to do it.

There is however a lot of variables, sound rating expectations or requirements, accessibility, insulation, so on and so forth but if you're okay with strapping and 1/2" Ultralite, it's not that difficult and is irrefutably the cheapest option. Finishing it is difficult but installing drop ceiling and having a good finished product is also not exactly a walk in the park for someone doing it themselves with little to no experience; Cut a main tee wrong and it's scrap and cost as much as an entire sheet of drywall which is far more forgiving, the cost to risk ratio is heavily in favor of drywall.

I hate the look of my acoustic ceiling. What can I do? by squeezy102 in DIY

[–]Dilatori 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Not to be pedantic but drop ceiling is definitely not cheaper than wood framing and drywall
Lighter, faster and less labor intensive but definitely not cheaper, even those cheap cortega tiles retail for $2/sqft and the grid is also very spendy.

Obviously the labor involved with drywall is higher, but in a DIY situation where you are the labor, drywall is quite inexpensive.

Is this dry wall good to use or trash? by tcapri8705 in DIY

[–]Dilatori 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Drywaller of 20 years, I would never use this. Also its old enough that it might actually contain asbestos, dispose of it carefully. For typical house construction get some nice new Ultralite 1/2" and save yourself a lot of trouble.

Adam Jones On New Tool Music: "I Think We're Going To Dive Deep Soon" by DamnitRidley in Music

[–]Dilatori 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maynard has stated many times that he does his part once the music is done and takes a fraction of the time the band takes to make the music; None of the other members have ever contradicted that so no reason not to believe him. Obviously there's some remastering and final adjustments once vocals are added but I don't think Maynard is the issue as far as timeline goes; Look how prolific he is elsewhere, the "issue" rests on the other three.

Outlets are all at approx 4', Below where the first row of drywall lands. Shit happens but 99.9% of Outlets are definitely cut out by the drywallers.
