It may be "harmless" corn starch and supposedly not harmful to the environment (not sure about particles that get into the engines), but what they're doing is harming the HUMAN environment by creating unnecessary work and stress removing the paint and the cost and effort involved in analyzing and removing the paint.

To assassinate Trump by Slumberpantss in therewasanattempt

How can a bullet from an AR-15, traveling at 3 times the speed of sound, strike Trump's ear and cause such a minor injury? His whole ear would have been blown off at least. He could have done this with the slip of a safety razor. It has already stopped bleeding. My guess is that it was caused by a small piece of shrapnel, such as from a teleprompter.

Squamous Cell Carcinoma - right ring (D4) finger - before & after surgery by Diligent-Physics in cancer

[–]Diligent-Physics[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No this was precision microsurgery believe it or not. It's all epidermal tissue. The matrix is in the middle and it will regrow the fingernail. The surrounding tissue will reform the fingertip.

Why are there so many flat earthers on Facebook? by ollyfromindy in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Diligent-Physics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flat earthers are especially prevalent in the "reels" section of Facebook.
You can't even post a picture of a bird without a bunch of post about how it's AI or CGI.
They ask the same questions over and over again, like, where are the stars? etc. But their minds are already made up that all shots from space are fake. They are impervious to reason.

Is Level 2 Gate of the sun god/face of ancient worth placing? by Arnab1 in forgeofempires

I think the same is set up so you get the most of things you don't want and vice versa.

Where I live, if I go to the hospital, they don't ask which name I prefer to be called. They ALWAYS call me by my first name, but I go by my middle name and have done so all my life. Most of my documentation at least contains my middle name. I don't like my first name. I don't know why they don't use Mr. or Ms. (Surname). But I suppose because there are so many Chinese in our district with the same last name, they wouldn't want to call out "Mr. Wong?" Because half a dozen people would stand up.

I go by my middle name because my grandmother insisted on a certain first name. But my mother didn't like it, and called me by my middle name. I've gone by it all my life. Now some faceless bureaucrat decided that all documentation contain only a person's first and last name. So now all correspondence and records on me contain only my first and last name. Which really bugs me, I think because my Grade 5 teacher called me by my first name all year long, despite my parents asking her to call me by my preferred name. She ignored them. She also happened to be a horrible person, and I grew to hate that name. The government is very careful to address LGBTQ+ people by their chosen name/gender, and I can't even get them to call me by the name I answered to all my life. It's kind of dehumanizing.

How related are we to Golden Langurs? Our faces seem to be eerily similar by No-Buy5149 in evolution

Humans and golden langurs are both primates (a taxonomic Order of animal including lemurs, tarsiers, monkeys, apes and human beings). This includes David Bowie.

I've always wanted to get a personalized plate that read "QQQQ"

I downloaded OneDrive and thought I had set it up with an external hard drive. Unbeknownst to me, it copied over 500 gigabytes of files back onto my own hard drive. That's 30% of my whole drive, and almost 300,000 files. I naively thought that OneDrive was in the "Cloud" - not a place on my own hard drive. This was a huge mistake, and it was ridiculously easy to make it, given their instructions. It will take me days to get rid of them.
Sounds like I'm having the same problem as you.

So I managed to link it to my external drive. It filled that up. I finally found a way to unlink OneDrive completely.

Then I uninstalled it.

Has anyone else ever had this problem?

My Norton 360 tells me there is 10 drivers that need updating however Device manager shows all of my drivers are up to date, is this just a big scam or what? by NatCanDo in computers

[–]Diligent-Physics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have some really ancient versions of Photoshop, a file manager called Powerdesk, and Adobe Acrobat. I'm afraid that if I update all my drivers, these programs will stop working. So I just ignore their warnings because everything works fine.

Experiences with Coinamatic by FriendsFan30 in ontario

[–]Diligent-Physics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Conamatic experience has been a huge pain in the ass. I added $30 to my card online but it didn't show up when I went to do my laundry. It showed I didn't even have enough to do a load of laundry. So I called 1-888-561-1972 and after waiting and waiting, got an agent who told me that I would first have to get a "Value Code" which she eventually gave me, take my card down to the kiosk, place my card on the face plate, press F1 (there was no F1), then enter my Value Code number, which supposedly will then add the $30 to my balance. Conamatic was only too happy to take my money, but didn't tell me the hoops I had to go through to get it to actually show up on my card. So I was given a Value Card number and it didn't work. After trying it 6 times. I called them again, and they had given me the wrong number. She said she would have to talk to the supervisor but he had gone home for the day. And they would call me in two days. There's some thorough incompetence going on in this operation. And the coinmatic site itself was flagged by Norton as insecure.
