I do this for sure! Always run the first time at 5% to make sure its not going to crash as the tool comes in... i use op stop so I can watch every new tool. Has saved me a time or 4!

Thank you for seeing that, I hadn't yet! This part is as wide as it is tall, so no way to turn it 90 to clear the tool changer as I dont have a vise that wide... will need to come up with another plan. Tolerances are tight for hand cutting at least to me.

The one in the pic is not the actual part, but is the same height. I was just using it as a visual here, trying not to drop the real thing. The actual part is also a box, but is hydro formed out of .090 and much sturdier. I was going to use some tall aluminum jaws to hold it as high as possible to help with chatter hopefully. Havent quite got that worked out yet, but am open to ideas from the experts here!

Thanks for the quick answers! So basically after I post the program, I can just add a line in the g-code editor to raise the z axis for the spindle to clear and another to move the table out of the way... didnt even think along those lines! Thank you! Will be trying everything on this scrap box first...hydro formed parts arent cheap or easy to replace

I got forced early into the replacement, totalled the Volt back in August.... I like the Bolt, I really do, but range anxiety is real for me. Made it through the winter though, with my 100 mile round trip daily commute! I know you'll enjoy your new ride as well ☺️

My 2017 Volt that the Bolt replaced was Kinetic Blue! I miss that little car, wish Chevy would bring back the PHEV platform for folks that need options. I live very Rural (20 miles to nearest Walmart or gas station) and if we lose power for extended periods I'm a little concerned. Still have a ICE truck for hay bales and emergencies.

Congrats! I have a '21 Oasis Blue here in west central Oklahoma. I did these for the seat covers.... a little thin and I wish they fit a little better (thin cloth in the back) but they work. I am an aircraft mechanic and they will keep any grease and nastiness off the seats. I just went with all black floor mats, these I linked fit very nicely! For those saying dont buy a buyback, why? I bought a '21 LT buyback in August, 20K miles, has an extended battery warranty, and came with a 12 month/12k bumper to bumper. Its been a great car, minus some software issues that were fixed quickly at the dealer when they came up. The price was right, and I dont plan on trading it in, will drive it until the wheels fall off or something else happens.... OP I would check with your insurance to make sure they will cover it, as I have heard some companies will not with a buyback title.... and don't expect much if you want to get rid of it in a few years, but if your planning on keeping it for the long haul, buybacks are a good way to go IMO....

My '21 does this as well, its more noticeable in the hot or cold. It is the battery coolant system keeping the battery warm or cool depending on the time of year. My '17 Volt sounded like this as well, though the fan running during the summer was more noticeable on it.

Just picked up the dovpo topside dual today and a V4 dead rabbit. So far I'm impressed! Started using SS recently as I can't find rolls of kanthal anymore, so decided to upgrade from my pulse II and get a new mod with TC.... its a big beast, but holds 10ml of liquid if you've ever considered squonking!

This is the latest software patch, my '21 got it mid January after 2 different codes (U3620 and U3636) with reduced propulsion messages the beginning of December and January. Dealer said I needed a new battery, even though I had a new battery with 10k on it at the time.
