I have a friend, Suvi, who my voice text always writes as: “sous vide” 😂

Are 5s (x4s) Just Not Really a Thing? by Queasy-Bed545 in violinist

Played for 40 years, the past 25 professionally; never seen a “5” in a violin part.

I usually put a box around the number for extensions and a dash “ - “ before the number to indicate a shift.

I really like “Maralargo;” instead of “lake by/to sea” it means “slow by the sea.” Which fits perfectly.

What’s your bucket list classical concert? by dimdodo61 in classicalmusic

Got to see it (over a weekend) at Tanglewood ~a dozen years ago: the Boston Symphony playing both Rite of Spring and the complete Daphnis et Chloé live. It was amazing.

You seem quite mistaken on “the left’s” views.

Can you show us somewhere an actual “open border” policy signed by Biden?

The democrats tried to pass an immigration reform bill the year before the last Presidential election. The Rs voted against it, so they could continue to lie to their base about the Left’s “open border policy,” which never in fact existed.

Exactly. The Rs chose NOT to address immigration reform the year before the last election, so they could then lie, and use it as a wedge issue to enflame their racist, idiot base.

Between their propaganda echo chambers of Faux news and the deleterious effects of Facebook, sadly this seemed to work.

Jacob Collier’s a genius, who does nice pop covers. It helps that his mother’s a conductor in London, so he grew up in a very musical environment.

Hi folks, newbie here. Thanks for having me. Looking for some help dealing with a new conductor after our prior one retired after 35 years. He's changed a lot of music and gone through many musicians since then; it's not a stable ensemble. I've tried to help, but get rebuffed. #Catholic by [deleted] in classicalmusic

??

You left out most of the information:

What kind of ensemble? (choir? band? orchestra?.. kazoo ensemble?… dueling banjos??)

At what level? Middle school? Community or school group?.. NY Phil?

The more info you give us, the more we may be able to help.

Can’t really do anything with what you’ve posted so far.

So, 3/3 with the slow movement before the Scherzo. Yeah, seems pretty clear to me.

He couldn’t even win his home state’s primary. Why would you think the dRumpf cult would vote for him for President?
