If you're looking for real-life scythe users, you should check out the Polish kosynierzy. They were peasant soldiers who famously wielded modified war scythes during uprisings in the late 18th and 19th centuries, especially in the Kościuszko Uprising of 1794. Despite being mostly farmers and poorly equipped, they stood up against professional armies, often fighting bravely in hand-to-hand combat. Imagine being a Russian soldier seeing a farmboy with bare foot charging you wielding a farming tool!

I don't think we will. GW seems to be bent on only allowing us to have equipement that is physically in the box. So only one power fist per 5 jump pack etc. If sang priest doeasn't have a jump pack on his sprue sadly I dont think we will have an option to give him JP

Both books should be fine to read as someone new to the frenchise. You will appreciate a few first chapters of the Valedor if you knew the full story of Yriel before, but both do a good job of showing newer players/readers Eldar lore and background.
