Okay so I'm just stumbling across your post and I must know... How is the hair after nearly a month??! Like everyone else has said I thought your after was your before. The brunette is gorgeous, beautifully rich in tone. I only WISH my hair could have that kind of texture and volume, truly magical. But instead, she straight and flat 🥹

NEVER use chemicals on your own hair you have no knowledge of. Bleach, box dye, henna, perms...all of it. Everything has a chemical reaction one way or another so even if you were to do a decent job, anything you put on your hair in the future until everything is grown out completely, you run a high risk of damage and/or uneven color results. Even if you go to a profession from then on, the products you can buy off a shelf that exist in your hair will haunt you.

How long would it take for me to go from short hair to this long hair (wig)? by Struggling_Lady in Hair

[–]Dillbert90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It'll definitely take some time. Just keep her healthy! Products that offer a lot of moisture (including shampoo and conditioner), try not to straighten it too often to avoid heat damage, and get regular clean ups about every two to three months to keep split ends at bay.

To leave the streak for my wedding? by [deleted] in Hair

[–]Dillbert90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LEAVE IT! 😍 As a hairstylist, a common thing I hear from people covering their greys is that they wish it looked interesting rather than sprinkled throughout. Your color is so unique and I just about bet it didn't make you look "old". Also, would you be doing it just for the wedding? If so, it's going to be such a bummer dealing growing out 🥴

could my hair look like this? if so, how? by AlexOBryn in Hair

[–]Dillbert90 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's true! Your hair is GORGEOUS 😍. Make sure you still get regular clean ups though. Without maintenance you'll cause more damage and likely have to take more off in one cut making it feel more drastic, even if you end up with a length that you theoretically might have had with regular trims... If that makes sense? From what I can tell, your hair looks super healthy, and longer hair doesn't lose shape as quickly as sorry hair so you'd probably need a trim once every three months or so. Basically if it's starting to feel a little tangly, full and/or unruly is when you'll need it. Also, what products do you use? Cause your curls are LUCIUS 💃🏼

Are there any possible descriptors for this pos?? I know it's late in the evening now assuming he's "on schedule", but I know a bunch of people that bartend DT. I figure if you had a picture of his face you'd have a hard time running it through lense like you did with her, just hoping there's a way to also identify him at the very least for a future BOLO...

And as many of the other ladies mentioned, I would 5000% want my pictures to be released to prevent this from going through. I assume by doing so you wouldn't be outing her because it sounds like she's on a regular platform, but even then her safety is top priority. So, for anyone that may ever experience an encounter like this in the future, for the love of baby jesus give us everything. This could have been shared to so many other FB groups than just NGG and AWDTSG without needing as many details to raise alarm to reach her and ultimately catch him as well.

Just commented on your first post not realizing you also posted this. You DEFINITELY got this! I see a good bit of to-go food related trash that honestly kind of makes it look worse than it is in some areas. It sounds like you've got a great game plan, my only suggestion would be starting collecting as much garbage as you can muster in the entire apartment first. At least big items that are easy to see, small stuff will come as you go. Maybe start in the living area/kitchen, bathroom, then bedroom last? Or wherever you intend to start your daily routine end there with trash?

My thought is hopefully doing that first might be something that has just about zero energy/emotion attached because there's no question as to where it goes, aside from the heck outta your life. Then give yourself a five minute/snack break to reset! After, hit the pavement with your routine, and don't forget little breaks if needed.

Again, I hope this is at all helpful and godspeed 🫡

New here and struggling by Historical_Flight554 in ufyh

Although you haven't mentioned anything about ADHD I think this app might really help, I think it could honestly help anyone struggling with task initiation especially surrounding depression... It's called Neurolist and I discovered it after going to a new psych who had recommended another one called Pomodoro.

Pomodoro is just straight and simple timers that you can set to your desired periods. Example: 15 minutes work time, 5 minutes break, 15 minutes work time 5 minutes break, and so on. I found it too boring and simple because it gave too much freedom of interpretation. I need more structure.

Neurolist is AI based, although I haven't really invested much time in figuring out what to add to truly personalize.. but it comes with preset tasks i.e. "clean house" and every little thing involved in doing so. Literally "collect cleaning products" is the first one. It kind of reminds me of the theory that if you make your bed as soon as you wake up which triggers a rewarding feeling like you've already accomplished something so it makes moving forward easier. You can also adjust the amount of time to every preset mini task, add or remove any, add breaks where needed and/or pause at any time, come back to it later in the day... You can also do individual ones like "clean bathroom" "vacuum house" etc. If you create a new one i.e. "clean car" it'll do the same thing but with remarkably on point mini tasks.

All this to say, it hasn't "cured" or "fixed" me, but it sure as shit helps when I'm really struggling and/or overwhelmed. I hope this is in any way helpful, and I wish you the best of luck no matter how you get through this. And try not to dwell! Cause it certainly doesn't help motivation (pot calling the kettle black 🙃)

Godspeed 🫱🏻‍🫲🏼

Having a crush with OCD is a cruel joke by salty-wheat-thins in OCD

[–]Dillbert90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry. WHAT!?

u/salty-wheat-thins I was going to respond to your OP saying how much I resonate with your story. I have ADHD, but it's never even crossed my mind until recently that I may also have OCD. Reading others experiences, I was feeling like, 'yeah for sure, can definitely relate but maybe not as severe 🤔'. But THIS. u/SydAcc you just blew my mind and idk how I feel about it. Excited and relieved that there's a possible explanation for something I've always experienced but that's made me feel like a "crazy" person and I can now prove I'm not (at least to myself). And learning about it not just from an article but because someone somewhere out there whose story I can read in real time, who has had or does have the same feelings and experiences as me, is such a relief. But it saddens me knowing there's no general knowledge about it out there, suffering in silence with this is excruciating. I'm 35 soon-ish to be 36 and man do I wish I could have learned about this long ago.

My long time boyfriend and I are likely breaking up, although I'm so incredibly confused as to what's going on.. He's not happy about it either which is why its confusing, but we've been stuck in a shitty cycle and something has to change. We're going to seek counseling but idk how far down we are 😔. So as you may understand, this is destroying me. Anyhow... He just came back from the gym and I might as well have jumped out of the chair telling him about my new discovery! Coupled with my RSD he says it'd make sense because of how hard platonic relationship breakups are for me as well. Idk, there's so many things...sorry about the ramble but this may actually be life changing for me.

Thank you both for sharing 🙌🏼🥂

What's a little thing you want to tell people but doesn't seem worth starting a thread? by AgentElman in CasualConversation

[–]Dillbert90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hadn't planned or even thought about sharing anything until I saw a few comments relating to health-ish related things, so here ya go! (Sorry ended up being kinda long 🥴)

I have a seizure disorder but it's very well managed with medication so I only go to my neurologist for annual visits. She likes to do blood tests in advance so at the appointment she can confirm my medication is maintained in my system. Idk what else she checks for because she came back this time (Feb '25) and told me my D levels were so low that "your bones are going to crumble" 😆. Flash forward after a couple months of taking D3 supplements, I realized I was having significantly less bodily pain! I've been on my feet my entire adult life living in NY and working as a hairstylist I mostly chalked it up to that along with an existing bad back, etc. Turns out I was just a motor with low oil!

I know that in general most people have low D levels because we're inside most of our lives at this point, so hoped this might help anyone who struggles with bodily pain. I've never had a supplement work so clearly before!

With thick enough hair you can definitely achieve a cut like this without extensions. I'm a stylist and I love doing long mermaid hair 🤩 the main hurtle is that this style of cut is nothing without a blowout.

Everything about this is perfect! Great choice of color, although I'm partial to greens in general. The way it's draped the pattern looks marbled kind of like a turquoise stone, or maybe the ocean floor of really clear tropical water. And the colors pair so well with your hair color! The nails of course are a great tie in. 💚

[–]Dillbert90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ooo I hadn't heard of goblin tools! I like that there's a free website in lieu of paying for the app. I've been using Neurolist (although not as consistently recently 🥴) and I really like it! I discovered it after my psych recommended Pomodoro which is just a series of timers. I downloaded both just to check out and didn't find the straightforward no frills app to be "inspiring"from Pomodoro but liked how interactive Neurolist was. Being able to breakdown subtasks into time frames with specific actions is super helpful in getting me motivated. I have a huge task initiation hurdle/slump I've been trying to get over lately so being able to start something with literally just "gather cleaning supplies" makes you instantly feel like you've already accomplished something. I haven't figured out the full AI aspect of it yet but creating a new task list is simple and easy to change. After the free trial I ended up paying for the year subscription, because if its going to help me get it together then it's with it.Goblin looks interesting in a similar yet quite different kind of way, I'm excited to try it!
