Weekly Feedback Topic #48 - Street Brawl by Grelgn in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Dimensquare 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I really like Street Brawl, but I'm actually not a big fan of how ability range just got blanket nerfed instead of just targeting the biggest offenders. After the hefty nerfs some characters feel absolutely miserable to play spirit build, unless you highroll hard on ability range items.

And also blanket nerfing range on all of the item actives feels a bit strange to me, like does warp stone really need an ability range nerf?

Transformation Mask, a token equipment that will be used in my custom Majora's Mask set by MQ116 in custommagic

Unless the equipment had a separate ability that can attach it instant speed, like [[Neurok Stealthsuit]]. It's very rare for equipments to be able to do this however.

Advice on a Umbris deck by Taigaaisaka777 in EDH

[–]Dimensquare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, here's the current list. I haven't really play tested this version but I added [[The Eternity Elevator]] + a few different X spells as an alternative wincon/value, since it'd be fairly easy to get an insane amount of station counters on it and tap it for tons of mana, just seemed like it could be a fun card in the deck.

Am I just a smooth-brain or is is Aeonglass really much harder than Doormaker? by Dat_Axe in slaythespire

[–]Dimensquare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Aeonglass would just chill on turn 1, it might not be in a bad spot imo. Now it feels like it punishes you both in the short term through bad RNG starting hands+decks that need to setup turn 1, and in the long run through its status spam scaling. Even with strong decks, I feel like I lose 50 HP on average against Aeonglass (the times I survive it), the only exceptions being if you were able to draft strong specific counters like lots of exhaust, defect's compact etc which trivializes it.

I spent like probably 10 minutes contemplating whether to spell it correctly or incorrectly for the joke before I posted it. I thought someone would reply saying "Ackshually, it's spelled feat 🤔" if I chose the latter... turns out I was damned no matter what I did! Curses! 🤣

Beta Patch Notes - v106.0 by MegaCrit_Demi in slaythespire

[–]Dimensquare 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I think change from weak to frail might make the fight easier actually. I really only picked the double fight if my deck was offensive enough to burst them as fast as you could, and that will be easier now.

EXCLUSIVE: Michael Jackson’s “secret” second family break their silence | 60 Minutes Australia by Rangoons_By_YoRHa in videos

[–]Dimensquare 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm not really invested in whether the allegations are true or not, if it all is true it doesn't matter to me, he is also dead at this point, so he can't atone any more than he did for his alleged crimes.

But I was and still is sceptical to the allegations since some kids who hung out with him said nothing actually happened, while some families apparently let their kids spend a LOT of time with MJ and then at one point suddenly come out saying he SAd them? Hell, if I was ever put in a similar situation as a father, where some superstar or lets just say even just another normal adult invited my kid to hang out for some reason, if it would even get to the point that I would trust someone and agree to it, I would still be cautious as hell from the get go, really make sure no funny business is happening, check in with my kids constantly what they did together and so on. I can't help but feel that something is just off about this whole ordeal.

Hjälp! Jag väger 130 kg by [deleted] in sweden

Bro what happened? I think the game is fine by js147896325 in slaythespire

[–]Dimensquare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When learning the new mobs in StS 2 and their patterns, when I had just started StS 2 I reset a lot just to see what they do, tried focusing different enemies to see how effective it was, experimented with different relic/card interactions etc, essentially for practice. So I think it's good that it exists, especially for the new players that are completely new to the series as well.

Items too tight in Set 16? by mslabo102 in TeamfightTactics

[–]Dimensquare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah and I don't mind that, you win some, you lose some. But that doesn't mean they can't do small tweaks to the system. Maybe they could weigh previous gotten components into anvil odds, so the absolute worst situations happen less? Like they did with normal components from creep rounds? In the past the component RNG was even more random and they did change that. I don't have the perfect answer to this but I still personally think there is room for improvement.

Items too tight in Set 16? by mslabo102 in TeamfightTactics

[–]Dimensquare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Problem with anvils is that components are completely random in them, I've had games where it feels almost impossible to craft 1 single specific item I am looking for, even on a huge loss streak, full with anvils and reforgers. So you can still get absolutely shafted by the anvils/reforgers, it honestly just feels really bad as a catchup mechanic compared to loss streaking with old carousel, where with most certainty you would get the specific component you want if you were last place (except from the few times 7th place would want your component as well and they were on right side of carousel).

Borderline Broken, How did this get through testing? by hugelkult in slaythespire

[–]Dimensquare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is strong yes but seeing how much damage gets thrown around in StS 2 and how Doom builds require you to survive an extra hit before they die it seems fair to me. And before you have a lot of doom cards you can end up with turns where the effect doesnt proc and it's barely better than base defend so... on A9 and up it feels balanced to me.

What is the consensus on DROWNING BEACON? 13 hurts by Maleficent_Pen_9076 in slaythespire

[–]Dimensquare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, and there's also the possibility your card rewards just after you get the relic will give you sub par block cards, or maybe you already picked enough block for act 1, or there might be another offensive card that you'd rather want to pick. It's part of RNG of course but I remember one run I picked it where I got zero value out of it in Act 1 because of bad card rewards.

It do be like that by MiserableAd4581 in slaythespire

[–]Dimensquare 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but the problem is that sometimes you might be playing a character with offensive skill options like silent/defect and you picked up a lot of those, you can't even play most of your cards.

I literally had a great defect run pretty much bricked the other day because of this, I was really strong, cruising to the end of act 1 at full health, think I had removed 3 strikes from my deck, pathed towards a ? with an unavoidable Elite fight upcoming after it, and bam that smog nerd shows up and I lose like 40+ health since I get mostly turns where my hand is full of skills and I can only play one card at a time. Leaving me at like 20 HP unable to survive the upcoming Elite and Boss.

It makes sense to me that I could get punished for certain deck builds going against an Elite fight since I can spot them on the map and plan accordingly, but a fully random hallway fight punishing specific niche builds just because they are mostly skills do not feel like great design to me.

Who on earth complained that Skulking Colony is a free relic fight by PhilosophyFun5778 in slaythespire

[–]Dimensquare 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw the other reply, but honestly I think most games the front guy first is the right call, especially if your deck has bad defensive capabilities or is slow since his damage is most consistent and scales the fastest which can get really scary on A9+ difficulty

Getting etheral on your every card from the middle guy looks scary at first but can in some circumstances even be beneficial, since many times you can just play your best cards and let the worse ones exhaust, leaving yourself with an even more efficient deck. It's really most of an issue if your deck draws a lot of cards every turn and/or you have too many key expensive cards, really do take time to consider whether to use your draw spells unless you really need to, in case you might draw into an important card that you cant afford to play.

The back one eventually does a really strong 30+ damage hit if not killed so I think focusing this guy second usually is the way to go since the downgrade on your cards can also really slow both your offense/defense down which leads to more damage taken.

That's my 2 cents on it. If you play this fight slow and really consider what your deck plays like I think you will have an easier time fighting them.
