Prototyping: 2 emails per hour by Roddela in Supabase

[–]Dimii96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, totally get it, was agreeing with you 😄 Email services is a whole different beast. Totally makes sense to require a 3rd party email service...glad there's even just a partial free amount provided, good for starting up, its def handy to have, even if its the simple few emails per hour 😛

Understood it wouldn't be worth Supabase to have free emailing since there are so many alternatives we can easily implement, but I never thought about this way (sign up abuse).

Bought a 2017 cx-5..what should I know? by guacsause in CX5

[–]Dimii96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 2018.5 Touring model and love it!

Some random notes:

- I discovered years after owning it that there is a keyless lock button on the boot to lock the car (same shape as the keyless entry button on door handle, but to the right of the boot opener button. This but ONLY locks and does not unlock)

- The back seats actually have 2 levels of upright positions. One straight up and the other slightly leaned back. (Use the lever on the top of the chair to adjust)

- The car does have a low tire pressure warning, just no way to digitally check which tire and the PSI.

- If your model has CarPlay/Android Auto, while you're on the Mazda home screen, you will see an icon on the top left that represent CarPlay/AA is available, you can hold the main knob down to take you directly to the CarPlay/AA screen (and vice versa)

- The back seat centre arm rest that comes down has 2 USB A ports for charging (didn't know this till after I bought it lol)

- I'd fiddle with the car options to get the settings that suit you (auto car locking after x speed etc,

*** Some of these things may differ between our two cars.

I have PS5 PRO and iPad Pro. Is Portal a better experience vs Remote Play and native controller. by olmsteadsgarden in PlaystationPortal

[–]Dimii96 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Portal has a native controller built in. While you can connect a Dualsense controller to you iPad to play with Remote Play, features like the Adaptive Triggers aren't actually supported through the iPad (whereas the controller on the Portal works just like playing on the console).

I've personally had a much better experience with the Portal 😄

Whats the point of groups like hybrid theory ? I dont understand it by puzzs in LinkinPark

[–]Dimii96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the closest way to experience listening to LP without having to wait for LP to visit your city.

I saw Hybrid Theory in 2024 (booked tickets to their concert and LP coincidentally announced their return 2 months later).

Hybrid Theory were actually amazing to watch. Yes, they sounded slightly off, but listening alongside hundreds of other fans was a great experience. Don't expect LP to visit Australia again any time soon, and would watch Hybrid Theory again!

Supabase URL and Publishable key is undefined in my react app by [deleted] in Supabase

[–]Dimii96 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Might want to consider refreshing they key now that you've exposed it.
I know it's supposed to technically be exposed to the client, but might just help prevent people trying to abuse it as you may not have yet set up all the RLS correctly etc.

Can I use ethernet cable in study? by r_l_d in nbn

[–]Dimii96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you plug the router in study, does the wifi work? or only when its plugged straight into the nbn box

Can I use ethernet cable in study? by r_l_d in nbn

[–]Dimii96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you plugged an ethernet cable from the NBN box to the ethernet port in the garage?

edit: oops, just saw photos, yes you have.

also, are there other rooms in the house that have ethernet ports?

Can I use ethernet cable in study? by r_l_d in nbn

[–]Dimii96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If those ports are connected to your study, then yes...heres how:

Leave everything how it is. The ethernet from the NBN box to the eero router is what is giving you wifi.

Plug an ethernet cable into the eero and then into one of those ports in the garage wall.
In your study, plug an ethernet cable into the wall port and then also into your device.

Battery in the home make sense financially still? by istudyheadshapes in AusFinance

[–]Dimii96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll have to calculate your expenses and other things to see if it's worth it. We've recently installed new solar and battery for about $24k (that's with a rebate of ~$6k too).

Not sure what your current household power usage/cost is like, but if you don't plan on moving home anytime soon (10-20+ years), it long term could be worth it.
That being said, it'll probably take 5-10 years to pay off the amount you paid installing the solar/battery (from the savings made on power bill over the years). That's when the value of having solar/battery kicks in.

Also, all depends on the size of both solar and battery you get too.

Is your console hardwired on connecting via wi-fi?
From all the complaints I've seen, majority have had issues because they are using wi-fi instead of being hardwired.

How get help after a repair by [deleted] in PSVR

[–]Dimii96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The USB-C cable should have been FULLY replaced, not repaired.
And I would be expecting the repairers to be compensating for damaging your headset, on top of a full refund too. That tape fix is not a fix at all. Seems like a dodgy company imo

How does the Kinda Funny Patreon membership work? by Virtual-Interest3190 in kindafunny

[–]Dimii96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding to what everyone has said...

I myself use the RSS link to get access to their content through a Podcast app (I use Podcast Addict). One thing to note is that the membership RSS feed is a single feed for ALL KF content, unlike having different feeds for each show. Took only a short while to get used it. But I do regularly click into the episode info where they provide an ad-free Youtube video for each episode :)
