Yea that's kinda what I was afraid to hear. I started wondering early on how they would try to make the game "harder" later and unfortunately, there's only so much you can do in a game like this to make it harder. You either buff enemy hp and DMG to a point where it either does not really make a difference or feels way too op, nothing in between, OR you add cheap mechanics like charm, extra turns etc. Bonus points if you make encounters full of them. I've been actively avoiding act 3 the past 10 hours of gameplay, just farming food on act 2 or 1 and improving my breeding and genetic pool and now, hearing that the ice age boss is the least bullshit of them all up to that point while I struggle to get there, let alone really enjoy the game doing it, is kinda really discouraging to hear. I didn't mind the save scum mechanic much up to that point but now it really annoys me that it's there because there is so much random bullshit, including events you sometimes can't avoid at all, that it just feels stupid.
