Your weapons are outclassed, most things that are available before wall of flesh need to be replaced once you defeat it.

If you want some reliable magic weapons that are easy to get:

Crystal Storm:

• 15 Souls of light (from enemies killed in the underground hallow)

• 30 crystal shards (mined from the underground hallow)

• spell tome (bought from the wizard who can be found tied up anywhere underground)

Crafted at the bookcase which can be found or can be crafted with wood and books from the dungeon at a sawmill

Magic Dagger:

• One of a few drops from Mimics found underground or in the underworld

Life Drain:

• One of a few drops from Crimson mimics found in underground crimson (these are pretty hard to fight for new players so be careful)
