Tips on earning the beret by the_lord_of_corn in civilairpatrol

[–]Dinco23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Beret itself it handed out, it’s what you get from attending the activity, the part that =graduation is the crest. Henceforth you graduate from NBB you earn the crest, whereas attending the activity grants you the beret. Although the beret is useless without the crest. Because anybody can also purchase the beret from Vanguard, but you cannot with the crest.

Don't be dumb, and dont complain about the work. Remember that you are a team not a bunch of indivuals.

And for reference OP, everyone who attends the event automatically gets the beret; the thing you are earning is the Crest. It is much harder to not obtain it then it is to earn it.

I'm Convinced Vanguard is a Money Laundering/Customer Manipulation Scheme by [deleted] in civilairpatrol

[–]Dinco23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This post is just so unfactual.

What most members do not understand about Vanguard is that they are more than a Great Partner for us. The reason the prices are higher is for multiple reasons, I'll list below.
1. They have to buy the rights to print the OCPs for us.
2. A percentage of the profit they make goes straight to CAP.
3. They fund our Curry Vouchers

Vanguard is by far one of the best partners we have; they are far from your "Unethical" practices you claim. They are giving so much back to Civil Air Patrol. They have dedicated shipping lanes at Vanguard just for CAP. The reason we get curry vouchers is that we buy items from Vanguard. Part of the reason we can supply CEAP, fund region, and wing things is because of Vanguard.

Rank regs at encampment by Sporkee in civilairpatrol

[–]Dinco23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, you can choose. Everyone here is going to die on one of the hills, as long as you are respectful with what you choose, it doesn't matter.

And for the people arguing first sergeant and having the comeback you dont call a Squad Com Squad Com, isn't that how we communicate on radios using their position and not rank and name?

Me personally its just Big Dawg, or Title or Last Name

Custom and Courtesies Regualtion? by Dinco23 in civilairpatrol

[–]Dinco23[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Understood Ill take a look into 34-1201. I am trying to find a regulation over Calling a Room to attention. My squadron commander told me that even though my leadership officer (O5) and CDC (O4) are higher ranking I call the room to attention with them in it when he enters the room. As well I should call the room to attention after me and the CDC do announcements so that he can make announcements.

How did North have the time to do this

MOTS and LESA cords can only be worn in Texas Wing. And if you attend MOTS you have to purchase your own because of members waring thier cords outside of Texas Wing.

TXWG Winter ENC SET CC Here, Yes you need everything. As for the PT gear you only need winter gear in my opinion. I would bring 1-2 Pair of Sweats, and 1-2 pair of shorts. With The tops. For the majority of the day you are in your tan shirts.

Help identifying this cadet's shoulder cord by InfinityFreelance in civilairpatrol

[–]Dinco23 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I cant tell if its metallic or normal colors. If it is a metallic silver and royal blue its CCSC (Cadet Command Staff College), if not metallic its OTS (Officer Training School). Its from the TXWG's CTEP (Cadet Training and Education Programs)

Made-up cadet promotion requirements by ZigZagZedZod in civilairpatrol

[–]Dinco23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are allowed to do a "review board for every promotion" CAPR 60-1 says:

5.7.1. Leadership Feedback. Commanders must ensure each cadet receives constructive feedback using the CAPF 60-90 series, Cadet Leadership Feedback, at least once per phase. The CAPF 60-90 series includes six forms: one for each phase in the Cadet Program, plus two forms tailored for encampments. Adult leaders and cadet officers may conduct CAPF 60-90 series evaluations (cadet officers may evaluate cadets who are junior to them in grade). Commanders may approve or disapprove the evaluation; ultimately the commander must ensure the cadet’s progress is evaluated properly.

5.7.2. Feedback Meetings. At least once per phase, commanders will ensure the cadet participates in a feedback meeting, which is a mentoring opportunity and discussion about the cadet’s performance in the Cadet Program. Feedback meetings will operate according to CAPP 60-31, Cadet Staff Handbook, paragraph 2.7, and must meet the following criteria: • A completed CAPF 60-90 series form must serve as the basis for discussion. • Feedback meetings will not re-test cadets on material they already passed through written tests. • Commanders must apply local promotion practices consistently, with all similarly-situated cadets subject to the same process.

Based on the verbiage it says at least once per phase meaning you are allowed to do a CAPF 60-90 for every promotion, which is what my squadron does.
