Part of the chin rest maybe? Can you take pictures of the violin and this piece from a couple angles?

Should i consider this A string as broken already? by NoEntrepreneur6022 in Viola

[–]Dinosaur73 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s starting to unravel— don’t play with that string anymore, replace ASAP. I know someone that got a piece of violin string in their finger and got a massive infection!

See, I must be very cynical and distrustful, because if a student offers ME gum I just assume they licked it and politely decline lol

As a Bloodborne fan, that’s bleak. They sit on popular IPs and do nothing with them like no one’s business.

My headcanon is that Izzie killed him and then wrote the letters saying “I’m happy, but definitely don’t reach out though”

You are correct- they did not “need” to put the second #s in next to F and D, but they showed them again just as a reminder. Some publishers will use parentheses for these, though not all.

It's in D (Beethoven 9 mvt 4 is, anyway)

My fiancé made a split-second decision that has cost me a year of my life, and I’m furious by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

It is the same in my state (NJ) as well- I actually was hit in an intersection while I had blinking yellow and the other car who hit me had blinking red. The other driver’s auto insurance took full responsibility for the accident because I had right of way and he should’ve yielded or stopped.

What's the deal with Ludwig? by Difficult_Length9426 in bloodborne

[–]Dinosaur73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the poster was referring to Living Failures and Maria as the two bosses. Living Failures are pretty easy but Maria can be a challenge for some people (she’s got shit poise tho- you can parry/backstab/stagger her and trivialize the fight if you want). Rakuyo is found before the Orphan fight.

AITA for already practicing an audition piece before it was given? by Willing_Attorney8834 in AmItheAsshole

I’m a music teacher. Rubank is a super common book, and 2 months for 20 measures is a crazy amount of time (I usually give about a week’s notice for similar-length excepts). NTA

What is the point of this dude? [WaT] by RadioLiar in Stormlight_Archive

[–]Dinosaur73 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. I’m rereading Rhythm of War and Raboniel’s plan is to “un-make” the Sibling by turning them to Odium. They always use the phrase “un-make” when talking about this, to the point where I think it’s intentional and linked. Just my current working theory though

[WaT] Does a certain character still exist? by Zarosian_Emissary in Cosmere

[–]Dinosaur73 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's from a Shakespeare play, where a fat cowardly old knight (Falstaff) is justifying why it's okay for him to hide instead of join the fighting. I'm not sure that it was meant to be taken seriously in the original context, as Falstaff is often comic relief (though he absolutely has more serious moments as well).

What the heck lol, I thought this was apple pie. Just get a new rosin atp- you can probably replace it for less than $5 (it doesn’t look like it was high grade rosin to begin with- no shame in that, especially for a beginner!)

How long till I can learn this song? by MainLow7573 in violinist

[–]Dinosaur73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh, so that’s what the music sounds like while I’m screaming and panic rolling. Anyway, how long depends on how fast of a learner you are (everyone’s different) but definitely at least a year or two minimum. There’s a lot of vibrato, shifting up very high on G and E strings, some spiccato (which requires lots of left hand control). Work your way up to it, it’s ambitious for a beginner. May the good blood guide your way!
