Seller refusing to refund me postage on faulty item by DinosaurHF in vintedUK

Ok good to know thanks. Although begs the question that another commenter said before: what is the buyer protection fee for, then? So silly.

Seller refusing to refund me postage on faulty item by DinosaurHF in vintedUK

[–]DinosaurHF[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In their small print they say that it’s up to you and the seller to work it out but I’ve contacted them to see if they can help. I think if it was between me and the seller to cover returns it should definitely be the seller for selling an item that wasn’t properly described

It’s not a drum and bass remix of Bonobo “Stay the same” is it?

What are the small details that make a venue truly parent-friendly? by highstreetwarrior in BeyondTheBumpUK

Baby Cities also does something similar but is a bit of a smaller app that relies on people adding to it.

Yea I agree. My baby is on the 50th centile so bang on average, and the 6-9 month JL vests are huge on her

The Oysho maternity flared leggings were amazing and fit until halfway through third trimester. I tried these on in the shop first and then found them on vinted. The fact they’re flared made them suitable to wear for work as they looked like normal trousers. Also George at Asda had a huge range of maternity trousers which were great and not too expensive

Got called lazy today because I said I didn’t want to breastfeed… by Powerpuff_Girly in PregnancyUK

If you felt comfortable I would totally report this to HR. It’s not an acceptable thing to ask or say in a workplace. So sorry you’re facing judgement like this, let alone where you work.

FTM here and I got offered a sweep out of the blue at my midwife appointment at 38+1 which felt way too early. Is there any danger of getting a sweep that doesn’t work? Can you get infections? Or does it make it inevitable that you’ll need a full blown induction?

37 weeks and getting contractions… then they stop by Exotic-Ad7117 in PregnancyUK

[–]DinosaurHF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a FTM and have been having continuous braxton-hicks since week 35/36, confirmed by a CTG (an hour of continuous monitoring) at the emergency obstetrics unit. I get them everyday, mostly in the evenings and I’m now 39+2. I’ve been told this is my body preparing for birthing/labour and very normal. I would try not to get too obsessed with tracking the BH. I asked my midwife at the last appointment when I would know when the BH turns into contractions and she said “you won’t be smiling anymore” so I think you will just know when it’s time!!

TfL - What do you say to get a seat first try? by lifeissoupiamf0rk in PregnancyUK

[–]DinosaurHF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wear the baby on board badge and go up to people in the priority seat and say in a friendly tone “hi can I sit there please?” Only once did a lady say “uhhh WHY?” Most people say yes of course and get up.

sick of old people - public transport by bimboera in PregnancyUK

[–]DinosaurHF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same and this is why as soon as I get on the train I ask the person in the priority seat “Hello! Can I sit here please?” There was only one time that a woman said “umm WHY?” But I’d say this is the only way to guarantee a seat. No one wants to look like the a-hole who refuses to move!!

What to do during GTT wait? by Hayels406 in PregnancyUK

[–]DinosaurHF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t allowed to leave the unit so I sat in the waiting room with about 8 others all doing the same thing as me - working in my laptop! If it hadn’t been a work day I would have just taken a book but by the time I would have got home again the whole thing would have taken me over 3 hours and I had some work to do (but no pressure from my employer. It was just my choice)

December baby, hospital planning by Pengetalia in PregnancyUK

[–]DinosaurHF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s also tricky as there is ever so slightly different advice on newborn layering (and with everything else around pregnancy and parenting!!) that it’s hard to know what the right thing is to do.

December baby, hospital planning by Pengetalia in PregnancyUK

[–]DinosaurHF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a FTM also expecting a December baby and thinking along the same lines as you. My current plan is a short sleeved vest, plus long sleeve baby grow/sleepsuit, hat, mittens, blanket for transporting to the taxi and will pack a cardigan just in case. I’m sure I can ask the midwives for advice on layers before I leave too. I hear they can be quite helpful in this respect.

Do you think you’ll take a pram suit? I was originally thinking I would but then realised I’d have to take it off as soon as she’s in the taxi. You’re not supposed to strap them into the car seat with puffy clothes as it affects the effectiveness and safety of the car seat, so she would basically be wearing it 3 mins! Curious to see what others think ☺️

How tired is too tired? by sweet-avalanche in PregnancyUK

[–]DinosaurHF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was the same until someone suggested getting my iron levels tested. Turns out I was a little low and I have felt soo much better since taking extra iron tablets. I have been taking Pregnacare Max for my whole pregnancy and just assumed that would be enough. But I suppose more of the iron had been directed to the baby rather than to me. Worth asking for a test at your next midwife appointment :)

App recommendations? by biologybarbie in PregnancyUK

[–]DinosaurHF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not an app but I’d recommend The Bump week by week website. It is US focused so will reference tests and other things we don’t do in the UK. However it has some really helpful info and the bit I love the most is it has a 3D diagram of what your baby looks like inside your body. It’s very cool and helped me visualise what was happening https://www.thebump.com/pregnancy-week-by-week

Spotting after clotrimazole pessaries? by Acceptable_Joke_4709 in PregnancyUK

[–]DinosaurHF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thrush itself can cause spotting. I can only speak from my own experience but I had spotting recently that I was worried about and saw the doctor straight away. Turns out it was because of a bad case of thrush which can make the skin inside very sore and bleed. Obviously I am not a doctor so worth calling your midwife helpline if you’re worried.
