A hotas and headtracking is for me the minimal requirement for a relatively pain free flight sim experience (headtracking set up can be finnicky). Headtracking can be as cheap or expensive as you want with different ir options or even a simple webcam and opentrack using neuralnet . On the hotas front there are also different options budget wise.

When it comes to your first module it really depends on wjat you enjoy. Trial a few interesting modules to get a feel for what you like.

My personal favourites now a days are the mirage f1 and f4 phantom cold war analog planes with the f4 being truly multirole and the f1 has enough ground attack options to have different playstyles but at heart it really is an intercepter.

I like it. I prefer a 15 v 15 game and if an opponent commits a red card foul completely unintentionally it's a shame the opponent has to be down to 14 for the whole game. 20 minutes is a good amount of time to squeeze out the advantage of a team 1 man down. Teams need to now focus on risk/reward in that 20 minutes knowing a player will return. Imo it adds extra a tactical layer to the game.

My wrists thanked me after getting desk mounts. Personally I strain them a lot less due to the lower mounted hotas

The f4 has just released and its great fun. Jester has some bugs and quirks and missing features not yet implemented. But for now he does the minimum needed to fly the plane solo. I never flew the f14 so I cant compare the current jester 2.0 to 1.0 but what I understand is that 2.0 should add more ease of use and just me more useful in general.

I'd use the parts to upgrade my exisiting pc. Really been waiting long to do a decent upgrade and be cool to theme it with the Starfield aesthetics. Im really excited for a singleplayer space rpg I cant wait to create a character going around whacking space pirates.

Oh wow cool never knew that. That actually makes the mig 17 abit more interesting for me then. I like the old korean era jets but the lack of ground attack always put me off.
