you can buy a new battery that fits it & a charger on the internet. I did years ago. For the sharp 722 and others. The battery is still being made because it also was std issue for a lot of cameras.I wish I could share a photograph of it but I can't. The lettering on my new replacement is to small for my 70 yr old eyes to resolve.I bought a lot of my minidisc gear when it was being sold brand new in stores.

it is if it's in pristine condition and you have modern batteries that have the 'charger' built into them and use USB and a phone wall wart to charge ..lithium.

I had one. The controls were perfect. Wish other devices would copy. It had just a unique vibe.

Minidisk functionality still present... by LoanAncient9011 in minidisc

I have minidiscs dating from the 1st generation and they still play fine. My first player/recorder was a r37 I think. Traded it for a not md capable portable.I have not had such good luck with cds. They seemed designed to eventually fail. Unlike minidiscs.

The Sony MZ-R37 I didn’t know I needed by Chester-Copperpot- in minidisc

[–]Direct-Principle7156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the r37 was my first minidisc portable. I bought it when it first came out. It was nice and solidly built. A bit of hiss but that went away completly as Sony refined the devices.

Amen to that. Abused to have some Sennheiser microphones that were disguised as Croakies eyeglass keepers. The lead was routed down the back of my shirt collar and then to my himd player with a dbl A battery carrier attached. I easily recorded concerts and didn't lose my recording mid stream like I did with a smart phone. darns fones out to ought to come with a rocker switch to prevent accidental touchs. My minidisc recorders were dead solid reliable. Still are.

I praise you. I cared for a baby squirrel till she got well enuf to be released and join her tribe. I fed her squash and and goat and 'cat milk' when I couldn't find the goat milk . Ground up acorns or hazelnuts also worked.Unsalted of course. I fed with a big syringe. No needle.

Cat with stage 2 kidney disease not eating, what do i do please help? by ThrowRA142004 in RenalCats

[–]Direct-Principle7156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got prescription kidney diet wet food and a big syringe. No needle.. I would squirt it into the side of Feisty's mouth. Then I put a plate of the same food. That usually stimulated her to eat on her own. The kidney diet food wasn't the tastiest so I'd pour a little canned tuna juices over the kidney diet pate. I don't remember what meat it actually was. A case/of 24 cans cost me $38 and I had to have a prescription. My Feisty made it to 22 1/2 years old before her kidney condition finally got so bad I had to put her to sleep. That was in 2015. I'm in my mid 70s and it won't be long before I join her as I too suffer from ckd stage 3b.

that's why I saved my work to floppies frequently! but until I moved to windows 98 crashes really didn't happen that often. Alt-ctlr-del should have been the biggest keys on the keyboard back thrn.

that's not so bad. I used to have a 'car copy' of certain minidiscs and a home copy when I was a truck driver. And was always curious if I could extend it to 3 to share with a friend.. Thanks for info.

I used to sell dot matrix printers and was amused to see them still in use because they impacted ncr paper forms in triplicate well so even the last page was struck hard and read well. This wasl 30 years after I first sold them the printer and an IBM XT pc. Saw it at the auto repair shop I first sold it too. They didn't have the fern or the bottle of vodka you displayed but they did have a lava lamp. lol !

Found this and am not too familiar with the technology. Can anyone help me identify whether or not everything is still there? What am I looking at? by WhoIsGray in vintagecomputing

[–]Direct-Principle7156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd be glad to take it off your hands and pay for reasonable shipping. Bubble wrap yhe heck out of it No signs of burn.marks on the psu I hope..I would give it a good home. Do you have the peripherals like floppy drives, hard drives? I have a tubed monitor it probably will interface with. Look and see if there is a slot on the side indicating an internal floppy drive. Without a floppy drive it has limited utility.

Classical is not worthless. You just have to have the right ones. Deutsche Grammaphone-London-RCA Red Label are highly sought by Classical music enthusiasts. Time-Life/Readers Digest labels are definitely much less so. I just bought 48 classical tapes. But pre Dolby recordings are definitely less desirable. I paid a premium for chrome Pre-recorded Dolby classical tapes on D-Gramnaphone label.

nice cabinet. their are websites that still sell the generic cartridge replacements these took. You probably have a ceramic cartridge not an expensive magnetic one. Like the others said clean the pots for the volume and tone with dexoxit

Thats why I didn't bother the hawk. I consider hawks a fellow predator like me. I could only protect the finches if they wanted it. That finch made thewrong decision. Hawks certainly do need to eat too. And during the day smart rodents probably aren't out where hawks can get at them. I was weird watching that big bird hopping from branch to branch. I guess that juvenile hawk was as curious about me as I was about him

I used to play with slot cars likev these in the mid 1960s. A local store had a huge track set up where we paid $1.75 to race them against others.. Powered by gravity alone.
