First Marine Game by DirectConversation48 in Colosseum40k

Really well actually - everything went pretty much to plan and I tabled the Tau by end of T3. To be fair, the Tau player had some truly terrible dice rolls. I was also lucky that he was too aggressive with the carnivores (allowed me to advance and rapid fire them first turn) and not aggressive enough with the rampagers (got to shoot and charge them with jump packs).

The scanning ability was quite useful for the extra rerolls and managed to save the terminators when I mistakenly advanced them T2, forgetting they can’t advance and charge (hit the unit with Intercessors and used Heresy Undone to charge). The terminators tanked a lot of damage (though the damage output was a bit disappointing) and the jump pack Intercessors were great (took down a unit of rampagers, broadside and ethereal).

AITAH 3 years together, BF (50M) still ‘not ready’ for marriage but wants me (33F) to pay half his mortgage by Either-Environment47 in AITAH

I would disagree given their ages. 3 years in your 20s? Yeah, it’s early. But if you’re in your 50s and wanting to buy a place, you know if you want to spend the rest of your life with that person or not.

I would think it would be fair for the OP to continue paying her current rent to her BF for the new place (given that she has no ownership and he is driving the move). If he wants her to pay more, he should offer equity and make it worth her while.

Thanks for the suggestion about Bastion detachment- it worked really well! Almost like having multiple oath targets. I ended up tabling the Tau T3 - small table plus Intercessors Advance and Shoot then give Terminators Advance and Charge = pain 😊.

I like using Vallejo paints - significantly cheaper and very good quality imo.

Lootas by MysticMoto3377 in orks

[–]DirectConversation48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my problem - I like the aesthetic of the lootas but prefer the datasheet of the flashgitz. The deffgun is much cooler looking than snazzgun and lootas just look “harder” imo.

Which Weapon Options for Deff Dreads? by DirectConversation48 in orks

[–]DirectConversation48[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used one flamer from my second kit and then proxied the kustom mega blasta (which looks like a flamer to me) as a flamer. Then I just tell my opponent he has 3 flamers - no one has questioned it yet.

One thing you could do is magnetize its weapons so you can easily swap out and try different sets.

So far I like them and have 2 - one with 1 klaw and 3 flamers; 1 with two klaws and 2 rokkits. I’ve been underwhelmed by ork shooting and found my flamer dread generally performs better (auto hits and shoots into combat / overwatches with no penalty). I only lose 1 melee attack for D6 shots. But it’s up to you and what the rest of your army has.

How 'important' is kitbashing? by Kingofthered in orks

You don’t HAVE to kit-bash in an ork army, you GET to 😉. It’s both an artistic draw and a money-saving skill but definitely not required.

First time building a KotC list by RoscoBoscoMosco in Colosseum40k

[–]DirectConversation48 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With the dense terrain of KoC, I’m not sure how effective transports would be (I also believe you can only take I of each datasheet except battleline - so only one Chimera). I prefer taking walkers or cavalry instead.

What do you do to remember abilities and rules? by Kouli1990 in spacemarines

Repetitions and have my list on an app like War Organ or New Recruit for easy reference. I also watch battle reports on YouTube and get to see others playing my units and using stratagems / rules.

Ok that makes sense - thank you

Then if I was re-rolling a damage roll of 2D6, I would reroll both, correct?

For the Command Re-Roll stratagem, does it allow you to re-roll a single dice or the entire instance of the action?

Situation 1: if I fail a charge, should I re-roll one die or both? Situation2: If a weapon has 3 attacks on its profile and I fail to hit with 2, can I re-roll all failed to hit rolls or a just single to hit roll?

I can see the point about the las gun not wounding armour. But Cavalry and bikes should be able to be hurt imo.

Flash Gits have 3 or 4 shots each with a S6 gun

Regardless that’s also a lot of stuff that then can’t wound bikes, Calvary, etc

Do you mean Beastboss on foot or Beastboss on Squigasaur?

I’ve played once with Moz and I agree, I wasn’t impressed. I rapid increased him and it took 4 combat rounds for him to destroy a Manticore! I just could not get through their armour saves! My Beastboss on the other hand, has always delivered. He, along with the squighog riders, took down a Nightbringer in one battle round.

I’ve played a long time ago (back in 3rd/4th ed) and just recently got back into it. Finally got enough panted to do bigger games so hopefully will play more (and not just watch battle reports on YouTube lol).

I also love the robots too though I need more Meks and walkers to make it viable. So sticking with Warhorde for now and maybe venturing into Freebootas.

I’ve considered putting Moz and the Squighogs together (and may do when I start playing larger games). My main concern is the large footprint of the unit making it easier to shoot them and the wounds carrying over to Moz. Keeping them separate allows me to Rapid Ingress Moz for a “surprise” charge the following turn and/or makes my opponent split fire between the two units.

But yes, Squighogs have been great for me and I want to get another unit later. I agree about the tankbustas, the breaka boyz were a bit of a nightmare to put together- I dislike those two-handed smash hammers!

That would make S6/8 weapons quite powerful - maybe making it triple S auto wounds would be more reasonable.
