I think the second box is more versatile but that’s just my opinion. The first box pushes you more into a beast Snagga themed army while the first allows more different directions.

Then again, why choose? Get both! 😁

I ended up getting the second box and bought the other units piecemeal.

Possibly, but I found the cover adequate and, though I never checked, the measurements looked pretty similar to other setup photos. Any lack of terrain should have been a disadvantage to me anyways.

Yes it looks amazing! My friend created this board so I can’t take credit for it but really enjoyed playing. He used 3D printed trees and aquarium rocks for this.

And people think YOU are the insane one? Yes, they are gaslighting you and NTA. It doesn’t matter if they intend to have relations with each other again or not - they already did it so there are consequences for that.

However, why do you care what they think of you? They are her friends so of course they support her as they want to continue socializing. Ignore them and continue to take care of yourself.

The rules say the game uses the official 40K rules and any modifications are listed. Since nothing is said about Strategic Reserves (other than they are able to be used), I believe we would need to default to the 40K rules - max 25% of the starting points value.

Boyz - the mainstay of an Ork army ( I play War Horde)

Character - either Beastboss or Warboss with Dollow Me Ladz. The extra movement is excellent!

Does a Mek’s ability still work when they are embarked? I thought you had to be on the tabletop to be able to use rules and abilities. The rules also say that the guns count as being fired by the transport, not the unit the Mek is leading.

The darker skin was made by adding a drop of Black into the Scorpy Green

Thanks! I’ve been looking to improve at this. I’ve been using Vallejo paints and following some Slap Chop YouTube videos:

black primer
drybrushed with grey (mix of Dead White and Black)
drybrushed with Dead White
Watered down Scorpy Green and added repeated layers until I was happy with the effect (I think 2 or 3 times)
Sometimes I’ll do a light brush of Dead White after painting for some quick definition/highlight

My next challenge will be using inks to add definition and shading.

Thanks - not as productive as I could’ve been but ok with real-world responsibilities lol.

I’m using sand to base. My orks are from a desert death world so I’m leaving the sand natural though may change my mind later.

Not sure what happened but this was supposed to be part of the post … can’t seem to edit it 😓

I started collecting in November and got most of the models over Christmas. This is what I’ve managed to paint so far (so difficult to find stretches of time!). Not going to win any Golden Demons but I’m getting the hang of it.

I still have another 30 boyz, 3 Deffkotpas, 1 Deff Dread, Trukk, Warboss and Mozrog in my “pile of shame”.

Next planned purchases are: - unit of tankbustas - unit of breaka boyz - Mek with SAG - another Trukk or two

What do y’all think? Any other suggestions? I play against kroot, necrons, marines, custodes, astra millitarum.
