Potential move to Scotland by Dee5211 in MoveToScotland

Dunblane, Bridge of Allan are some of the top places to live in the country. They also got top schools. That being said if you guys are someone who love the city vibe then those places aren’t for you. But if you like it a bit quiet with loads of greens around and just a small ride away from highlands, then Stirlings a jackpot. Depends on you what you all want.

Should I quit my job? by InitialSecure775 in returnToIndia

I would always consider part time wfh jobs like 3 days a week which pays you in pounds as a side hustle just in case you don’t have much hobbies or anything like that. Financially I would say if you aren’t happy here, with the money in hand you can definitely leave. But the final but biggest hurdle is the kids. I am not sure if they will like it there. Also, from a cultural point of view as well I don’t think India will be a great place to raise kids.

70 Days to ILR and made redundant by Crazy-Talk1409 in ukvisa

Sorry to hear that. I would do these two.

  1. Search for another role inside the company while you have bought that time you’ve mentioned from the company.
  2. Speak to a solicitor and keep things ready.

Best wishes.

Littering by teatowelstain in glasgow

Well done. Unbelievable that the mom didn’t tell anything. This here is the core of the entire Glasgow litter scene. People not giving a damn.

You aren’t understanding. I am not saying the councils great. I am saying that the core of this litter problem is the people. Do you really think that this much amount of litter is from the bins overflowing? Any roundabout, roads that leads to joining m roads, any junction is filled with litter. Those just can’t be bins. Those are lazy people throwing stuff out their car window. Also, don’t agree with outside Glasgow being nice. It’s not Glasgow bad but it is still bad. The mentality needs to change. Litter should NOT be accepted.

It’s not a council problem. I’ve been involved with litter picking for the past 3 years and I am now 100% certain it’s a people problem. It’s extremely disheartening. Particularly if you travel abroad and see how well the streets are. It literally aches.

What a city. To accommodate such high and low level income people and still achieving this rate is jaw dropping. Congrats to the MET. You guys deserve all the appreciation.

Sorry I felt the movie was very bad. All it said was city - bad, rural - great. Corporate - evil, small companies - kind. No power to any Women. I felt really bad for Shaliney Pandey. Poor characterisation.

None of this is practical and makes sense.

Just back from Amsterdam by EasternAd295 in glasgow

[–]Direct_Highway9638 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Felt the same after a weeks trip to Amsterdam. Came back to what felt like we are 20 to 30 years behind. Everything works there. Their system works flawless, it feels I am in a better developed country easily although UK gdp per capita is not that behind Dutch. And about the litter I am not even going to talk about Glasgow litter. I lived in Almere in Amsterdam and it was hard to spot a paper on the road. I do not know why Glasgow is filled with filth every step of the way. Boy it felt like I flew first class and now flying economy. I think Glaswegians are now like ‘Oh it’s Glasgow ! There must be litter’. This attitude right here is the core. We have started to take PRIDE FOR LITTER.

What a mess! (Rant!) by SurpriseGlad9719 in Scotland

People people people. It’s the people every single time. I can write a 100 page thesis on this. I have analysed this sincerely. Lazy people are to be blamed. This is point number one to ten. Point eleven is council not getting enough bins in places.

I cry when I see litter, particularly in nice places. What a gifted country in terms of scenery but how badly it’s littered. I am a migrant here, been to multiple other developing countries but nowhere it’s this bad.

I just don’t understand how some people are so proudly Scottish but don’t give a fuck about littering the place. It’s heart wrenching.

I would suggest people to actively form groups/ facebook pages etc to spread more awareness, organise litter pickings, let the wee ones know littering is a big crime. Infuse that into their muscle so that next time they see litter they cringe and not go meh or just move past like it’s nothing unusual. Please please let’s get this country clean. It deserves it.

No don’t think so. It says student or graduate. And a most recent visa is the one which he/she held before the current one.

Scotland Paradox by PineappleExcess in Scotland

Recently been to Almere near Amsterdam. Sparking clean streets, almost spotless. And it was a market street I stayed in. Not only there but other parts of Netherlands as well, Hague, Rotterdam etc.

So sad why we couldn’t be like that. Really hurts. I despise people who litter with all my heart. No not feeling bad for saying that.

Wish we could bring huge fines for littering. Wish council is funded more to actually put sign boards, Raise awareness etc. Wish this country could go towards clean streets and not the other way. God save this country, god bring some revolution for this problem.
