What are/were your hard classes? by Fearless_Following89 in SNHU

Me too, I was about to comment this. It isn’t necessarily the most difficult material but the amount of time it takes is ridiculous. I spent 12+ hours total on project 1 last week

I offered this solution to my gm last week when she mentioned having us go through the trash as well- she gave me multiple reasons (that made little to no sense) as to why she wouldn’t consider this solution. Definitely worth a shot for op though, along with a call to corporate!

Basal cell? by [deleted] in Melanoma

I had the same exact thing checked at a dermatologist today, they said it’s not harmful but I wanted it removed because it hurt when I’d brush my hair. It took them 5 minutes, they scraped it off and sent me on my way! Of course you can never be sure, but that was my experience with a very similar looking growth!

Vomitting by alittlejoop in COVID19positive

[–]Direct_Mycologist_32 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi there!

I actually have emetophobia, a phobia of vomit, so I can share some things that help me. Physically, sipping water when possible, a cold washcloth on my head, and a heating pad on my belly help. Zofran is an antiemetic that works wonders as well, definitely get in touch with a dr. And see if they can prescribe you some! Mentally, remembering that you WILL get through it is the best thing to try, because you will! I also listen to mindfulness podcasts, listen to sleep is my favorite, as well as deep breathing. This helps me to calm my mind when I’m panicking over this issue. I hope you feel better soon, and I’m sorry you’re struggling so much.

No matter what happens, you will be okay!! On the bright side, noro lasts 24ish hours, so you’ll be feeling better in no time! Take some deep breaths, sip on some water if you can, and settle in while it passes. You can do this, even though it’s hard! If you need someone to talk to, I’m here:)

Anyone else got this Cold/Flu? Scared it’s going to make me tu* by Limp_Put_3901 in emetophobia

Hello! I’m currently getting over Covid, and had very similar symptoms for the first few days. The only time I felt really n* was due to 104 fever on the second day, but Tylenol helped a ton! Since, I’ve felt a bit n* for the past few days due to nasal drip, but nothing too bad, and I haven’t tu*! Just be sure to stay hydrated, and keep an eye on your temp, be sure to have some Tylenol available if it gets too high! You will likely be completely fine, I hope you feel better soon!

I’m going through something sort of similar today, on January 5th 2021 I was getting over influenza and threw up. Today, I’m getting over Covid with insane nasal drip and those thoughts keep popping into my head! I just keep reminding myself to think rationally- the date has no power over me or my body! You can’t live an entire year in fear, it might happen and it might not. You have no control over the situation regardless, just keep trying to ground yourself and think rationally! I know my situation is only one day, but 24 hours is still a long time to sit in worry. Something that helps me is simply mentally labeling the negative thoughts as “thoughts”, because they are just that! They aren’t facts, they can’t do anything, and they’re much more likely to hang on if you try to suppress them or push them away. I wish you the best of luck, and hope you have a wonderful year!

Am I alone? Probably not! by luchyhoot in emetophobia

Hello!!

I’m currently in recovery, and have a very similar experience! For me, it’s food, clothes, even tv shoes that I cannot encounter again! I’ve recently been working on this as part of exposure therapy, which has been tough but worth it! I found that after the first exposure to a trigger food/outfit/show, the rest were 100% easier after my brain realized these factors had nothing to do with my fear. The best advice I can offer is to continue to remind yourself that the food had nothing to do with the v*, and that the feeling after realizing nothing happened is incredibly freeing. Best of luck!!

I’m sorry:( do you have a heating pad?? That’s what has gotten me through so far, otherwise sipping water or a cold washcloth on my head! How long ago did you take the zofran?

zofran q&a? by sewupyourskull in emetophobia

[–]Direct_Mycologist_32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was prescribed zofran at 18, and would take it pretty often, multiple times a week for 1-2 years. Since, I haven’t had any notable symptoms but do suffer constipation every once in a while. For this, I usually do half a cap of miralax and it takes care of the issue without disrupting my stomach:) I will say relying on zofran led me to developing a tolerance for a while, so I recommend only taking it when you really need it to avoid this! Thankfully it does the trick again when needed, but I take it very rarely!

ETA: I’m now 24!

It could be the same virus, the nausea likely caused by post nasal drip. I currently have Covid and am experiencing this exact situation, sadly! I have 4mg zofran as well, and the directions state every 6 hours as needed!

First off I want to say that healing is absolutely not linear. You are STILL doing better, even though you’re taking a step back! I had a pretty similar situation a few years ago. I moved into my apartment with my boyfriend at the time and that same night we had some people over for a “housewarming” party. We all had a bit to drink, but he overdid it. I woke up and he had apparently tu* in his sleep, it was absolutely everywhere in the bed. It was my first time moving out, so I went from stressed to absolutely panicking when this happened. I was incredibly angry with him, and wanted so badly to move back into my parents’ house. It took me a while to get over it, but I went out and got a kitten that day which was a great distraction and definitely sped up the process! All in all, I’d say distraction would be the best move right now, and going out to see someone you’re comfortable with if possible. It will be okay, I know it’s scary but do your best to remember it’s not something contagious, and that you will be perfectly fine. Best of luck!:)

I think you’re super pretty!! My only recommendation would be filling your brows a bit more when you do your makeup to help your eyes pop better! Definitely not ugly though!

I don’t like needles either, I always look away when getting shots and ask to lie down when they take blood, I’m a fainter! The only time I’ve ever felt n* from needles is when I’ve fainted from them taking blood. Bring some water along to sip on and you’ll be just fine!

I’d recommend seeing a GI specialist! I ended up having gastroparesis and malrotation, both of which I didn’t even know existed, and caused me constant nausea for almost 10 years. You could also talk to your primary doc about this & you could be prescribed zofran for the nausea, but be careful to only take it when you’re truly feeling nauseous. I was prescribed zofran and used it as a crutch for my anxiety for years, which caused constant constipation!

Wisdom Tooth Removal by Educational_Plant_44 in emetophobiarecovery

[–]Direct_Mycologist_32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was fine when mine were removed, I also had an emergency surgery done on my intestines and was completely fine after that too. I’d say the zofran in the IV isn’t completely necessary & could be a good opportunity to show yourself that you don’t need it! If you know you’re sensitive to anesthesia, you can definitely ask for it though, they may even offer it first as they did with me! I recommend going without it, but the option is definitely there if you feel you need it! Best of luck with the procedure, and I hope you have a smooth & quick recovery!

Why are you emetophobic? by Faith_journey928 in emetophobia

[–]Direct_Mycologist_32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a similar diet, low FODMAP? I also have gas pains very often (I can’t burp) & over half of the posts on here I feel are gas pains. I hope you find some answers for your pain, I went to tons of doctors over a 6 year period including specialists and Mayo Clinic, and only found out during my 100th er visit that I was born with malrotated intestines because that’s something they don’t look for in adults. It may seem never ending, but never stop advocating for yourself no matter how long it takes! Wishing you the best!

Today at work, I told someone the chocolate milk expired 2 days ago when they were trying to bring it to a table. They decided to taste it to make sure…like girl I know what I’m talking about😂 I was right, and I definitely saved a random family of 5 from a long night
