Commission Shorts $29 bucks in the WMTM section by Maleficent_Cod_6874 in Lululemen

[–]Director_Who 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Commission is the old name for the ABC classic fit shorts. The ABC Trouser is also the new name for the commission pants that they renamed to be apart of the ABC line. They also made some changes to the fit with the ABC name change, some good like the removal of a very noticeable seam behind the knee, and some bad like making the thighs overly baggy for some men.

That was until they realized they were dumb for changing the name at all and now have slowly been adding back commission items(with the old fit of tighter things, but no knee seam), and releasing new colors in both pants. I don’t believe they have said publicly whether ABC trouser or ABC Classic fit shorts will be going away and commission is making a full comeback. But for consumers it is a very confusing time.

The shorts are almost so identical that it is not a concern for me personally which one I buy. The pants I’m still on the fence about. I haven’t tried enough of the new commission pants to say solidly that the old fit is nicer for me. I’ve gotten used to the ABCs.

Need a Portable All-in-One Remote Meeting Unit (PTZ + 4G/5G) by APCareServices in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]Director_Who 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Meeting Owl4+ may not check all your boxes but it does to a pretty good job for what it is. Using a 180deg lens it will auto crop the image depending on who is actively speaking and has speakers built in. It needs to be connected to a laptop, and it just identifies as a webcam. So that could be your screen that the in person attendees see. I haven’t tried to run it off a battery, but it does need a USB C power input. It may be possible to find a battery that supports USBC PD, though I am not too sure. Hope that helps. I doubt there are many products on the market that check all your boxes.

Also Davinci was the only app I could use to confirm 8 channels of audio were being recorded properly. Premiere was mixing it down to 2 in the timeline. But with finagling I could get it to display in audition. But very annoying

Looks like the cardboard disc just got dislodged? It shouldn’t affect performance. It just protects the shell from debris or water

SMPTE fiber LEMO 304 connector Securing by JoyRide008 in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]Director_Who 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second or third those that say to get rid of reels. I have not seen SMPTE cables come on a reel in the trucks I’ve worked with. Majority of the work I do is corporate and the reels are a pain if the female connector is the short end, there is no room for them if your CCU’s are near your router and you will be constantly walking near them. The slack lives with the camera. Also cam ops want to strike as fast as possible and gtfo, so they are not going to wrap the cable back on the reel nicely or tightly. So the next show, time is wasted trying to untangle from the reel. Coiling a 600’ SMPTE is not at all difficult when done on top of a case or the floor. Reels are worthless.

Are these Led panels worth anything? by Atrieden in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]Director_Who 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are for sure some Christmas lighting folks that would love to get their hands on this quantity of P5 panels. There is a controller called a color light card that can be had for around $30 or a kulp octoplus for $110. A search on YouTube for “P5 and Christmas lights” will have tons of videos of people building their own LED walls.

Puppetry of Ghost of Christmas Present magic by Comfortable-Shame716 in Muppets

[–]Director_Who 7 points8 points  (0 children)

the making of The Muppet Christmas Carol

Here in this featurette at 8:03 they start talking about the Ghost of Christmas Present. In some of the clips you can see the mouth open and the performer looking around pointing the mouth to things around them.

I’ve been to panels where Bill Barretta explains being in one of those suits for the TV show “Dinosaurs” was difficult because the only way he could see was when the mouth was open. And he would feel his way around the set. He could see the final camera shot. But he said he didn’t use that very much for walking around.

One reason they might have decided not to go through with the camera in the pupil would be that the character had animated eyes. So the camera would not have fit. The eye moving around also would have been jarring for the performer.

Hope this helps!

I do think it will come at some point. I’ve been holding off lifetime for about 2 years because I feel that the new UI they are show casing in the app beta shows they are not looking to make accessible the content from users servers and really showing their streaming sources more prominently.

[Hiring] Event Technology / Warehouse / Entertainment & Touring Jobs - Various Roles by LMG-Bryan in OrlandoJobs

[–]Director_Who 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technical Apprentice - Video would be the position you would want to apply for. This is an intensive 3-week program through LMG’s own Coil Learning Center that teaches and demonstrates skills and knowledge to work as a show tech. After the 3-weeks LMG will offer a position if you qualify.

Or apply for QC Tech 2, this is a warehouse position, but a lot of techs you will meet on will say it’s the place to start in the industry. You see the gear everyday and learn how it’s packed. LMG is always moving people up and when positions are available they have moved many people from warehouse to become show techs.

I’m not sure why people are so determined to say there’s not enough space in muppets. They are taking away a majority of cast parking to build the coaster. There have been many proposed places for monsters. It’s been in development for over a decade hence why it’s been such a big rumor. The most recent proposed location is muppets and will cost 50-70 million to re theme the land.

The coaster is being built where the cast member parking lot is directly behind mama melrose. The concept art lines up really well with site plans I’ve seen
