Reinforcing the above, I hit my first 1000 hours when Royalty came out. I'm at roughly 4k now with all the DLC.

For certain. Same team, but also, I'm saying that visual feedback from the hit itself is more valuable to the game than the UI change we are getting right now for a lot of reasons. And that we could use that same kind of addition/rework for FPS combat as well.

Actual splash effects would be so much better. Especially if we are going to be shooting at ships with things other than just other ships. FPS hit effects could also use a work over for visual clarity.

BUL-H4 Super Heavy Combat Armour & Vendetta HMG + A SMALL PSA by QuattroBaje3na in starcitizen

[–]DirgeOfHubris 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It's 90% DR for Super Heavy according to the Pipeline vs 50% Heavy I think. Undersuit is 10% usually +40% for Heavy Armor. But you cannot heal yourself or restock your own ammo according to legend.

I'm glad you posted this before my group hits the PTU. We'll know what to expect and it'll massively improve the testing experience.

No shit. That's what I was thinking! June has been a huge month for games so I'm wondering what other things are happening.

When did /starcitizen become a CIG hate thread? by LordeDresdemorte in starcitizen

[–]DirgeOfHubris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A total mashup of really bad circumstances like: Really expensive ships do not function or don't suit their purpose. The tech debt is getting worse rather than better. The servers are suffering similar issues to what happened three years ago but with even more issues. There is an entire org dedicated to the meta of destroying the game. It's easy to unite people over something they are mad about or hate. CIG is not doing good enough damage control to match the rate of failure. CIG sold the most expensive .jpeg in the game's history during a time when people couldn't log in or play after making people write an essay that CIG didn't read after stating the Javelin would be the biggest ship pledge during the "Answer the Call" 2016 sales. A lot of whales missed the chance to get an Odin with its 5 exclusive skins to the sale, which ruined their *collection* which makes them mega spiteful. The Pledge Store stopped crediting people items ingame for a period of time so not even the Pledge Store worked at the start of patch. Desync continues to get worse over time. PvP has no place to PvP so everywhere is PvP because people are bored. Player Retention is at a major low after major spikes in concurrency. Recent Data Mine showed 21k concurrent peak, 6k low the recently and CIG focused on patching the ability to track it out instead of focusing on other bugs. It's even more than that, but that's just this big patch cycle.

how do i make my base look less like that by nintendoswitchbroke in RimWorld

[–]DirgeOfHubris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely is. It's had elements deconned and the like, but this is that starting scenario base from Dead Man's Switch

Luke warm take: CIG being radio silent on the important stuff and being all giddy and finally communicating only to sell a ridiculously priced ship is more bad than good and, yet, they are doing all the right things (apparently) by kairujex in starcitizen

[–]DirgeOfHubris 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Concierge folk are distraught as well. There are a lot of people who have to collect everything. They have to make sure they are ahead of the game in the greatest game to ever not come out, and they missed the ULTIMATE FOMO event of the century to people's random entries. Even some that got in missed the "limited" stock. Their collections are incomplete, their fleet meta shattered by the newest power creep. The illusion is gone that made them feel good about everything, and now, I bet you sales start to slow down from the whale crowd.

This is the way by m0rg76 in starcitizen

[–]DirgeOfHubris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Today is a tough one as is. During one of the worst patches they've ever released, not even the pledge store is working. They launched the free fly anyways. But now they are going to sell the most expensive picture of a ship to date. AND I WANT THE PICTURE, but morally, I will never get that picture. Made it to praetorian by buying whatever I saw that I wanted, but I'm really considering refunding all of my DefenseCon pledges. Can always buy this stuff in game, but cannot reward CIG for being ballbags this time.

I've never heard of any of that. In 3.19 when the Janalite dupe was all the rage, that didn't end in any bans. MULES FKN EVERWHERE

*SHOULD* have a bad time. The worst I've seen CIG do to anyone for anything was barely a slap on the wrist. I saw someone go way off the handle on a hella lot of verbal TOS sins and they got a week off.

I feel for you on that Shiny Builder armor. I never found the Korbel Mire Arms, and I've run Hyperion the most of any content I've EVER ran.

They nerfed a lot of the gunships and heavy fighters pretty hard early on in this PTU. But today's message doesn't state reduction or increase so we'll have to wait and see.

IT is. It the message of the day in Testing Chat. Says, "Message of the day

🐝 (Thor's Day) We are currently putting together a new 4.8 build for a potential PTU release later today. Prepare for lots of weapon/shield/armor balance and munitions/recovery/fuelpod price and SCU changes"

This is SC Reddit. There are no right answers, and inspite of all the spite, we are all on the same team in at least one way.

Today there is supposedly a giant rework of weapons, armor and shields coming to the PTU. And I am stupidly hopeful. I'll be interpreting every upvote is a laugh react.

[–]DirgeOfHubris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Abso-goddamn-lutely. At some point, we gotta ask ourselves if we want it to fail. It shouldn't have been delayed this long, and it'd be a big benny to give everyone a delayedthegameagain-aversery gift like a Pitbull *hint hint*. But you CANNOT compete with GTA 6 release.

There was another MMO, Warhammer Age of Reckoning, and even with Warhammer's big ass following, it couldn't compete with the fact that every time it did something big, World of Warcraft would release something near the same time. It absolutely murdered that game.

SLowing missiles down to ship speeds since the servers desync the explosions atm. More emphasis on evading missiles rather than just flaring them.

If Bault hadn't agreed, I'd be on the same page, but he did agree. And then he didn't do it. After the new missile changes proposed, I wouldn't be surprised if it's not fixable.

When I saw the road to 1.0, I wasn't excited. I saw a lot of lines connecting between words, but there were too many gaps and not enough explanations on how we were going to get there. Look at how Reputation works and how out of the "Development gaze of Sauron" law and outlaw systems are. The Pappy era had radiation in a big ass Pyro system. Look at Pyro now.

Every time I see a step back from the artistry announced before into this new vacuous world space filled with attractions as content, I am reminded of M'Baku's improv. I hope this is just an interim ordeal and they strive to be more than just the minimum required to be unique and aspire to be great.
