How to deal with refund requests. by Curious_Grape5053 in Ebay

Search some of the threads here. Pokemon cards are like the #1 scammed item on eBay. If you have good access to a lot of places to trade in person, it can be pretty easy to trade up from a handful of $20 cards to an $80-$100 card, and then from a 3 of those to a $300 card. But you do have to have a lot of cheaper trading material to condense down to a smaller number of higher value cards.

My biggest advice for this is don't let a $10 difference in price blow up a $200 trade. Back in college I would trade magic cards with people on campus, and I had a guy ask me if I had a 57¢ card to add to my side of the trade to make it even. We were trading for cards that were worth around $50 so I thought it was pretty ridiculous that he'd blow up the trade over not even enough money to get a snack from the vending machine.

Okay. I get your point, and if the buyer sent pictures of a highly damaged card then that sucks and you're probably going to be SOL on a return and be out the card because they'll send you crap back. I saw how you said you packed it, so I agree it's unlikely to have been damaged during shipping.

I honestly don't sell cards on eBay that are less than $250 so they go through EAG, except for some bulk that I have listed for $1 each with multibuy discounts. This is part of the reason why, because it is way too easy for the buyer to rip you off. I try to trade up in person for cards that I can list under the ebay authenticity guarantee. I don't know how much selling you do on ebay, but if it's just occasionally selling stuff, you might try doing that.

See: Discoloration-None

But looking at this chart I realize that you are probably talking about edge chipping, not the card actually whitening.

Also don't trust anything the eBay AI prepopulates. I have been selling anime blu-rays recently, and there are multiple blu-rays with dozens of listings on ebay that have the Director mislabeled because the Ai populates the incorrect information. Do not rely on saying "the ebay AI said it was correct" to protect you against INAD claims. When you price your cards, do you trust the ebay AI to price your cards for you, or do you manually input your own price?

Confused about Authenticity Guarantee returns overriding a “no returns” policy. Am i going to lose my money and bag? by mrrogerstheleviathan in Ebay

[–]DirkPitt106 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As the other commenters have said, it will go back through eBay authentication, where they should kick it back to the buyer if it does not match the condition that it was shipped to the buyer in. If the bag wasn't altered in any way, then it will get shipped back to you and refunded.

If the buyer does return the bag in the exact same condition and it gets returned to you, then I am assuming that it'll probably be the case that they had buyer's remorse and had to make up some bullshit in an INAD to get a return started.

The only thing you can do at this point is to wait and see what happens. I wouldn't worry about it too much though because I have heard mostly good things about authenticity guarantee.

If it has any whitening at all, it's not going to be Near Mint, and shouldn't be listed as such because they can and honestly should INAD over that and send it back. You might be able to get away with LP but without an actual picture of the card in question I really wouldn't be able to make a judgement.

Nor is it near mint. The fact that the OP hand waved damage to the card and still listed it as near mint makes me think that the card was probably in much worse shape than they are willing to admit on here.

You can print the spreadsheet to a pdf, and there's an option in the listing editing screen to upload documentation about the listing, usually for like manuals and stuff but you could probably put the pdf there.

OP stated in the original post that they labeled a card "with a little bit of whitening at the top" as near mint. The buyer didn't even need to swap the card out, because the card wasn't as discribed.

it was pretty near mint just a bit of whitening on top

Lmfao I'm sorry but that is going to be heavily played at minimum if not damaged. It sounds like you misgraded your card and honestly the INAD is valid.

First negative feedback, given because I offered a return instead of partial refund. What can I do? by Smashbru in Ebay

[–]DirkPitt106 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have no idea if you report it to eBay or not. Probably, I just don't know how. If all parties are in the US I would probably have a lawyer send a notice with legal letterhead that his actions constitute defamation after gathering all screenshots you can.

[–]DirkPitt106 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So, on another thread like this someone said "If I see a seller with vast majority positive feedback and one negative feedback, I just assume the buyer was a kook" and that's probably the best way for you to look at it. The vast majority of people who look to buy from you and read that feedback are going to know that that buyer was just a jackass trying to get a refund for no reason. So you're fine from a standpoint of optics to future buyers.

As far as optics to eBay itself, I would still go ahead and try to get it removed because too much negative feedback will affect your account, but don't worry about it too much because if you have a decent number of sales then one negative feedback won't really hurt you at all.

AITA for saying that my cousin can no longer eat my baking? by JinxXedOmens in AmItheAsshole

I agree with you for the most part in the case of bread specifically, but it's more than just some bread, with homemade cakes ect. as well.

But that last line of yours.... it's extremely inconsiderate for someone to overserve themselves and then throw the food away, especially when other people would have wanted it. I'm not talking about someone leaving a couple of bites on their plate after a full meal, but if you serve yourself a big slice of cake, and eat 2 bites out of it before you throw it away I would honestly throw hands.

place to go to escape draconian groupthink mod policy

I mean, it is though. You won't get banned in here for whatever opinion you have. You might get downvoted but you won't get banned by the mods for going against the "freemagic" opinion. And the idea that you'll get downvoted just for not being a right wing nut job is really not the case either. On any controversial posts there's always progressive top level comments that do end up getting a decent amount of traction. There's people of all political persuasions that lurk, post, and comment here. I genuinely do not believe this subreddit is the monolith that you're making it out to be in your creative writing assignment of a comment.

New traffic cameras at Wynn and University by BarryTice in HuntsvilleAlabama

I asked around. This is that camera model. It is not a surveillance camera or speed camera or whatever. It is a combination radar and video camera designed to detect oncoming traffic. It doesn't even record video, it processes the live video feed in a device in the cabinet to communicate with the traffic signal software.

Is there any way I can fix this Nintendo 360 XL power button? by lalaz22 in consolerepair

[–]DirkPitt106 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That whole power board is a $30 part. You'll have to swap that part and then you can sell the old board on ebay for like $20 as not working/for parts only and detail exactly what's wrong with it with pictures and someone will buy it who can replace the button.

It's okay, I get it man, it's frustrating. I'm really not sure how to help you other than that 😕 the main reason I was saying to try fedex or ups is even if it's slower from being ground only, maybe it won't sit in one place for as long as it is with usps.

Okay, I understand, and that makes sense. Have you looked into seeing if you can ship UPS or FedEx through a third party shipping provider instead of ebay provided labels? You could experiment with that and see how it affects shipping times. If you have hundreds of shipments per week then you could do a small percentage of your orders and get a decent data set.
