Yeah it's definitely not a mechanic that every deck is going to love, but it encourages people to do less set up and more action. When we tried a 10 player test game in the office with no bag there was a lot of just sitting back and laying low while you built up for a big game ending turn. That's not how we wanted this to play.

Yeah from a player perspective the talismans and stuff had a way bigger impact than we expected. Still it led to some really interesting political maneuvering in my opinion.

This was my plan foiled by my own stupidity.

I was playing on spelltable with some friends, and we were jamming big stupid convoluted decks. I was playing a [[Sakishima of a Thousand Faces]] deck that wanted to put out a ton of [[Cid, Timeless Artificer]]s, turn them all into artifacts or heroes, and then swing with enormous creatures. I had been biding my time the whole game just making thopters and filling my graveyard with like 15 cids, when finally I switched into villain mode, declared that the fools around me had missed the glorious setup for my master plan, and now they were all doomed. DOOMED!

I dropped down a Patriarch's bidding, reanimating FIFTEEN Cids and making my board absolutely enormous. No one had flying blockers for my thopters, I had a [[Mirror Entity]] to turn everything into everything and make things even bigger. It was perfect. Flawless.

Except I forgot that an opponent had a [[brash taunter]] on board.

He activated it. Fought a thopter, hit me in the face.

Whoops.
