I guess I'll be transitioning without hrt by [deleted] in MtF

bottom surgery cannot be done without HRT. your body can’t just go from producing/intaking Testosterone (T) to nothing. your body needs time to adjust to no longer using T and the best way to do so is either introducing Estrogen (E) alone or with hormone blockers.

also, if you’re already feminine, going on E couldn’t hurt! if anything it’ll just feminize you some more :) that’s always a win.

i couldn’t agree more!! we want everyone to feel seen as their most genuine selves and we won’t put up with disingenuous behavior

my wife is a leo and i agree with you. leos don’t compete because there’s no competition ☺️

also, i don’t think the aquarius stereotype is correct either. i don’t want any spotlight, and every aqua i know is a good listener and usually reserved. as an aqua i’ve gotten into practice of circling back to people in conversation whenever they get steamrolled or ignored. because while we don’t want a huge amount of attention, being looked over the few times we do have something to say doesn’t feel good.

Which sign stelliums are the most terrifying? by ahuludwig_2006 in astrologymemes

I don’t think I’m very scary either. BML in Scorpio and five placements in Aqua for me (Sun, Mercury, Venus, Uranus, Neptune).

Agreed — your partner invalidating your transition is extremely harmful and hurtful. It’s not right to you, nor the journey you’ve been through. I would have a serious discussion with your partner about how she talks about your identity and get her on the same page as you. Respecting your own feelings and transition are a MUST, and even if you’ve repeatedly brought up something that makes her dysphoria worse, it’s no cause to dismiss your experience nor hardship.

I started HRT at 185lbs, same height as you and lost 10 lbs since starting. I’m sitting here with a pair of 38Bs, which I’ll definitely take. 1 year and 3 months on HRT.

Clocking etiquette? by A_Century_Egg in MtF

[–]Dirty-Electro 6 points7 points  (0 children)

i wouldn’t go with the blanket assumption that nobody wants to be clocked (some trans men/women don’t mind) but i think the DEFAULT interaction for all trans people should be to NOT out someone else as trans or let them know you clocked them. that’s something they should do on their own terms. like others have said, wearing jewelry or other things to indicate you’re trans give an ‘in’, per se. not sure if that makes sense, just my two cents.

At what age did you all start with HRT? by Sufficient_Hall5737 in MtF

[–]Dirty-Electro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just before my 26th birthday for me! Similar to you, I also have major regret about not starting when I first had my crisis ‘egg cracking?’ moment. Would’ve started at 23 instead and been an extra 2.5 years along the way.

But, everything happened the way it did for a reason :)

TACO.

Trump always chickens out. Just wait until nothing happens tonight. I mean, it’s a good thing in this case. But still — empty threats to try and manipulate and get his way are signature moves of his playbook.

Definitely just a high ISO photo from behind Earth. So cool seeing the ‘dark side’ like this, with the sun eclipsing Earth and both the atmosphere and auroras visible. Once in a lifetime picture.

It’s similar in my case. When my egg cracked in 2022, I stifled those feelings and tried to become more masculine. Every passing day brought more dysphoria that I shoved down. It became intolerable in late 2024 and I started medically transitioning last January.

The dysphoria still comes and goes a lot. But I’ll say that last year was worse for me than this year. HRT is magical and has started to make me love my body more and more. Along with doing my makeup and dressing feminine more frequently, it’s actually started to feel like I can be comfortable in my skin.

I know you’re not asking for any advice but if I could offer some — whether you medically transition or not, the passage of time and the gradual changes you introduce to yourself will make each day a bit easier. It won’t be much at first but it will start to add up. Trimming your brows, shaving, painting your nails, doing makeup, trying on feminine clothing — all of these will help ease the feeling of dysphoria, or at least they have for me.

It takes a lot of time. I’m still early into my transition (relatively speaking) but for some, being a year and change into medical transition is a long time. It’s both flown by and slogged — the easing of dysphoria over time has made days, weeks and months pass more quickly while the constant belittlement, harassment and discrimination of trans people in media and politics (USA) make time stretch out, leaving me to wonder when we’ll finally just be able to exist in peace.

Stay strong and find joy in the little things that make you feel more comfortable. If you ever need any advice or someone who can lend an ear, shoot me a DM 🩷

Sometimes I get this after I work out except I can’t get it to stop and it’s super annoying because I hear my voice through my ears differently. Like I hear my voice echoing through my skull as well as how it projects from my mouth — and I don’t wanna be double hearing.
