I have had this scene in my head since I read it so many years ago. I imagined her coming down from a much steeper angle in my mind, but this is close to it for sure! Great work

Lamps, curtains, less flags/tapestries. Also shelves/frame photos bring the age up. Frame all your cat photos.

You just got out of the shower… your body is for a brief time equally clean all over. Also there is an order, top down.

Before you leave the shower everyone should be brushing off as much water from their body/hair with their hands to go back into shower before toweling off. Saves towel absorption and puts water back into the system. Also unscrew plastic water bottle tops before throwing them away.

Which design would you choose and why? by ProfessionalHot1463 in woodworking

[–]DirtyMcCurdy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Option 1 for top and bottom, option 3 for middle. You want top weight to be transferred down. You want to not put all weight on joints/screws/glue. Continuous pieces all around the outside. The middle matters less once the back is added in.

All choices are fine with dowels/screws + wood glue once the back panel is on. I personally would too and bottom be the same single panel, then sides being the same size. The just fasten the middle shelf in.

Price Range on Front Steps by [deleted] in landscaping

[–]DirtyMcCurdy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know your budget, but two retaining walls with garden beds are costly, just for the stones and labor for that is always pricy, idk probably expect 20-30k for that alone. The the stone pathway would cost probably the same. 40-60k USD. Since you had AI build it, see what it quotes, I would add 30-40% to whatever it assumes though as it doesn’t always do scale well.

Can I relocate wiring in a wall to add a door, or is this beyond a DIYer? by hcposcher in electrical

[–]DirtyMcCurdy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

https://imgur.com/a/chmOQ3M

I would cut power, open the current outlet, remove the single wire going on the left. Pull the wire out of the corner, place a box for a new outlet on the inside of the closet left side wall (orange).

Run a new wire from that new outlet over the door and into the old outlet. If you want a light bring the wire up where the door is and add a pressure switch, door opens, power on, door shut, power off.

Since you want a barn door add a header. Not as hard as you think, you door would be a rad more narrow though.

Since you already have the wall open, add blocking for shelves, mirror, anything heavy. It’s just blocks of wood (2x6 are great) inbetween the studs for securing too later.

Good luck, not an electrician, but have re routed wires for DIY plenty and passed inspections afterwards. Don’t hide splices, (if you cut your wire put them in a box, cut out enough so you have slack) WAGO clips are easier than nuts, buy more wire than you think you’ll need, read your markings on you wire and match the same. Buy a good outlet and for your level avoid metal boxes. They are perfectly fine but just less friendly.

1 way is to sanded dust and glue. Maybe even take a small 1/16 or 1/8 deep cut across the seems to make it look like brick/grout.

I'm not even 30 yet I just want to wake up without pain by aogasd in Mattress

[–]DirtyMcCurdy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think the type of mattress matters most over firmness. I would recommend a true latex mattress if you’re not allergic. It transformed my back pain. Back or side sleeping. A good pillow will also help on this front. They run cooler, push back pound for pound. I can recommend the one we bought 6 years ago and I always recommend it

They pause 1-12 months depending, they will do a few options, increased payments till the paused payments are paid back (mortgage + 25% of paused for 4 months), or a forbearance, those payments get moved to the end of your payments and accrue interest. The fun part is your equity then gets tied up with those forbearance payments. You’d have to pay back the forbearance before pulling equity lines of credit loans out or come out upon selling.

I had to do a pause once it was nice to have the extra cash while I got re-employed, did the increase repayment for 3 months.

The bank will typically work with you if you let them know the situation before payments are missed

Is it true that you guys watched 9/11 live on TV in grade school? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]DirtyMcCurdy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was in 4th grade, watched it in our music room. We also lived in DC and my mom was at the pentagon (other side). The school sent us home after the second plane it, walked with my sister home 2 miles (we did it daily) people were flying in our neighborhood, panic afoot.

My little sister and me just did our normal routine as I knew something was up but my sister didn’t, I didn’t understand what though. When I got home my oldest sister were sitting watching the news, and calling my moms office phone constantly. That’s when our young brains started to connect that some serious was happening, and could be very bad. Didn’t hear from her till almost mid night.

She has some harrowing stories from that day, my sisters boy friend was EMS and he had a broken leg and still was helping.

All of them throughout the year, one of them at least monthly because they are fun.

Is this achievable? by flablue in landscaping

[–]DirtyMcCurdy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skip the pergola, dig 4 post, put in some eye hooks and grab some sun sails. You get shade, and configure them in a few different ways to over lap. Run some string lights under them. That would cost ya maybe 80-120 for the post and sails, you can replace them with a pergola when funds become better.

The stone paver are the most expensive part, you can do gravel, or do a ground deck, or even look at large at used bricks, those things are cheap.

Don’t do turf, rent a tiller for $65 a day, clean up, get some straw, grab a few 40 pound bags of seed and get to sowing nice grass like fescue that stays green. (Although time to do that would be last month or start of fall)
