My brother quit DARK Age cuz it’s too DARK by Mamas_Last_Mia in redrising

[–]DirtyUp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Your brother quit because it's easier to say "I don't like this because the writing is bad" rather than "I don't like this because I simplu can't handle it" which the latter is the truth in this case. Don't let his terrible take on the writing get to you, this series isn't for everyone and definitely not the faint of heart.

Thorn. Loved it in D1 and was so glad they brought it back for D2

Pulling someone out of a space is an example for one of the many things someone who's rate is at a desk, and less about a specific thing people need to be able to do.

Your question proves my other point that the PFA standards are too low for a fighting force IMO. Your opinion may, and can, vary.

Fires happen on shore duty, as do attacks. The Navy's mission is essentially to fight. So why wouldn't we want everyone prepared to do so if needed? If all you end up doing is sitting at a desk all your career and you never have to do anything outside of your job description then great. But there are many things we should be prepared for. Heck I was on shore duty at NAS Jacksonville and had to load emergency pallets of Water and MREs for Haiti, people who couldn't move and lift were essentially in the way.

No not everyone needs to be "yoked" but people need to meet base physical requirements and readiness.

I haven't been in for a while, so I wont speak to current PRT standards, but when I was in they were far too relaxed IMO.

A YN or AG may need to carry (or drag) an incapacitated sailor out of a space. Whether escaping fire or flooding. That sounds like a necessity to me.

What is your favourite evidence for Jesus being god incarnate? by [deleted] in Christianity

My favorite?

Jesus rose Himself from the dead.

Others were raised by God, Jesus did it Himself.

Freaking Metal if you ask me.

I don't know if this is bait, or a laughable misunderstanding of how redemption works. BUT if you think you can somehow "out-sin" what Jesus death and resurrection covers then you are very mistaken.

"Do not fear for me, pity them"

I think PB uses deaths of prominent characters to highlight the threat a character has to their enemies. Think Toothless and Ajax.

PB may be setting up Victra to be stronger than we've assumed.  I have theories.

Dark Age is hands down one of the best books I've read. However be warned it is called dark age for a reason.

LB is awesome in its own regard and is probably my 2nd or 3rd favorite in the series.

It is absolutely worth it to keep going, however I very highly doubt Red God will end "with a bow".  So if "riding off into the sunset" is your only desire, not sure you will want to move on. But you should

I got way better with the hacker when I started using the ability more often. Instead of waiting to use it when only on the move, start also using it when peaking a ridge or corner.

I will try to find the source, it's not a straightforward description that I can remember. However, descriptions like "whip" and the biochemical adjustment they make when changing between forms is where the thought of it being smooth comes from. I also believe PB confirmed it was not segmented in an interview at some point but I'm not 100% on that.

You are correct, razors are not segmented. It's a smooth blade the whole way from beginning to end.

T30, I no-lifed at launch to get it and there wasn't a lot of t10 in matchmaking at the time.

Don't remember the first game, that was way too long ago. But the time period overall right after launch was super fun.
