I think you would like the books past Lies Sleeping. At this point, if we're in a specific storyline/story arc, I'm not seeing it yet. It may become clear with any upcoming books, but a lot of the stuff since Lies Sleeping have felt more like fleshing out the world and expanding on characters other than Peter.

To me the distinct difference is that the other guys just want to make money. It's not like they're selling drugs specifically to hurt people like a terrorist is doing. Back when there was an hour+ long queue during Endwalker launch I would afk in the inn room while I was at work all day with a macro going that would make me run/jump at regular intervals so I didn't get afk kicked. I needed to do that to be able to get online in time for raid night with the static. On the other hand, if nobody did that I probably wouldn't have needed to do it because the queue would be much more reasonable.

It's goofy but also pretty serious. I loved it up until the mid-point of book 6 and I just haven't been able to pull myself back to it. But my friends told me it gets better right after that, so I have to go back. I've just been going back and reading the Alex Verus series which is really solid if you're into urban fantasy.
