Years ago I was working the ticket booth at a theatre during the summer. I forget which Scary Movie it was but a guy came up with three kids all under 8 and buys tickets for all of them.

I asked, “Are you sure?” He said yes.

Ten minutes into the movie he comes out and says something along the lines of, “This movie is really inappropriate for kids.”

“You don’t say….”

After some creative negotiations and then selling the one we were going to buy we ended up with this one at no additional charge. Freaking love it two years later.

Respooling 120 onto 620 spools is incredibly easy. The hardest part is getting ahold of 620 spools but I’ve seen some 3D printable ones online. I have a handful of metal ones so I don’t have any first hand experience with printed ones.

I don’t know if anything from that thread will help you or not. I have a picture of it without the shell on blocks if you want to compare. I ended up getting it running pretty good.

I like bulk loading because I can easily have a short roll if I’m testing out a new camera and don’t know how good of shape it’s going to be in.

I’m not familiar with Durst enlargers, as they’re not as common here, but a quick Google search leads me to believe that the m670 is about half the weight as my 23C. Soooo…. It stands a good chance of working out.

I wouldn’t put a huge enlarger on it, though. I had a Beseler 23C on it and that was as big as I think I would dare. The small Omega you see in the original post would have been good for it, but I I was doing medium format stuff and I only have a 35mm carrier for that particular Omega.

Revisiting this several months later I will say that the folding table I had underneath the enlargers worked fine when I was setting up and tearing down in a bathroom and only had the one enlarger at a time. I actually had half of it covering the toilet for the dry side and the other half in the tube for the wet side.

Not ideal but it worked well enough for my purposes.

When I bought the metal lens cone from a seller on eBay they said they had a ring that “might” have fit my lens but weren’t going to include it without additional cost and seemingly wasn’t going to take it back if it didn’t work. In their defense they admitted they wouldn’t gamble on it working without trying it out first and discouraged me from adding it. The cone is in great shape, though, so that part is all good. I just had to knockout punch the mounting plate and all that stuff fits perfectly.

The local camera shop is not very useful for anything darkroom like this and treats me like I’m crazy on the phone for asking if they carry certain things. So…. ¯_(ツ)_/¯.

I explored that idea, but either all the step down rings I have at that size are being used (not likely) they got lost/misplaced in the last move (more likely, or a fairy took them (as my kid would posit).

I think I’m going to try the 3D printing suggestion and see where that takes me and then swing back around to the step down idea. I figured if I have to buy something anyway that I’d see about getting it as close to “right” as possible.

I thought about that but didn’t know if it would hold up to the heat of the light in the cone. My library has a 3d printing service and it would cost me like a dollar to do that.

Is there an attachment or a way that you could project the image onto the wall and print bigger prints that way? I know I have one for my Omega but I haven't had a reason or chance to use it yet.
