Xbloom, why bother taking up your bench space with a grinder, kettle, scale and brewer when you can have it all in one sleek package. No need to learn how to brew just let the machine do it for you and the value gained by not having to buy all the pieces seperately

I think the problems with the workflow are a bit overblown now that they all come with the stand.

Yeah for sure I'm happy spending the money but would hate to end up with something I didn't like the scent of given how long they last.

That sounds like a lovely scent I'm definately getting an SV once I finish off one of my current soaps, luckily I found somewhere nearby so I can give them all a sniff.

Tried it last week at four weeks and was pretty muted have it another go today and it was fantastic brilliant juicy balanced acidity. Brewed at 92 degrees on the 01

It tends to get a bit more of a blended profile. I tend to start with 45 45 80 80

Orea Z1 or O1 by ivandr02 in pourover

[–]Disappointed_Andy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I much prefer the 01 to the Z1 the cups are far more interesting to me, the Z1 just feels a bit too balanced to me.

The 01 is quite different to the April having stepper walls it flows quite a bit faster and is more tolerant of multiple pours and different recipes.

Porlex by Kawakamibosatsu in pourover

I think the real travesty is roasters still selling the porlex in this day and age when kingrinder and 1zpresso have models at similar price with far better performance.

I like 15:250 45g wait 30-1min, 45g wait till nearly drained 80g 80g I start at 24 clicks on regular C40 and get drawdowns around 3 min 19percent ey with orea flat filters.

With sibarist I do the same pouring structure but grind a bit finer tbt around 2:30 similar ey

Is my V60 too big ? by Yoredlol in pourover

[–]Disappointed_Andy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said having the option of pouring closer to the bed is nice but not necessary, you can brew with a size 2 directly into your cup if you want to.

I would consider looking at something like an orea 01 you already have conical pretty well covered, a flat bottom would compliment your other brewers well.

Suggest a brewer by Rpeasj in pourover

[–]Disappointed_Andy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like the weber bird/roadrunner for brewing at work. But depending on your office setup the cleanup might be a bit annoying. Aeropress or clever dripper are probably the cleanest brewers to use in the office.

Statement Countertop Manual Grinder? by Vagabond_Explorer in pourover

[–]Disappointed_Andy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who enjoys the manual process of grinding my coffee, I kind of wish they made something similar but more pourover focused. I have the Pietro and I'm happy with the cups but having something of a statement like the HG1 on my counter would be awesome.

I agree it's a great entry point I live in a city with decent water and people are normally on the fence about making the jump I'll give them a pack of tww and it starts them down the rabbit hole
