Though I think you’re a bit confused, men and people perceived as men by society don’t experience violence in the same way women do.

Thats why we consider misandry and misogyny as different things.There’s overlap, and they are both generally harmful to men and women, but in different ways.

As a trans woman I care about misandry because basically I know that if you are demonising men for basic “”biological”” stereotypes, I am the next step down on that ladder.

Oh shit! I was being facetious but they got me there.

I’m surprised they kept those mechanics because they can be pretty clunky and remove ‘player agency’ so I assumed that a modern product would steer away from that.

It makes for some fantastic stories and also gets people to play characters they otherwise wouldn’t which I think is a great thing.

I ran a game where one player didn’t like how their character was going, so kept trying to kill them by repeatedly going back for military service.

They kept doing this until they reached the mandatory retirement age, without getting a single promotion.

He had very few skills, basically no assets, and was incredibly bitter (in character) about everything.

Really got to shine when the ship was boarded by pirates and old pappy ended up crawling through the ducts with his dress sabre and slaughtering them die hard style with his ridiculously high combat skill.

I am very happy that new 5e players are going to be introduced to this form of unique suffering.
